Team Captain
It looks likely that Rio is our new vice-captain. Giggs and Gary Neville didn't have the captain's armband at all during the match.

LOL, we sign another Rooney, his brother. :o :p

Manchester United have signed another Rooney - Wayne's little brother. And the Old Trafford side believe 13-year-old John could be even better than his hat-trick hero brother. John, an attacking midfielder, has moved from Everton to join Man Utd's youth academy.

An Old Trafford source told The Sun: "John is a great little player and talent obviously runs in the family.

"He's coming along really well. Don't be surprised if the Rooney brothers lead Manchester United out in a European Cup Final at some point."

Wayne, John and brother Graham, 16, are all talented sportsmen after being encouraged to play football and box by their father.

United signed the England striker for £30m in the summer and he has already made an impact.

The teenager scored a hat-trick on his debut in the 6-2 viictory over Fenerbahce in the Champions League.

Would be interesting to see the Neville brothers and the Rooney brothers in the team...

but tahts highly unlikely.... wonder if we'll get Graham as well..

It was a good result. Wayne had an excellent debut and although it was against crap opposition we were playing a below strength midfield so he wasn't getting the service he would normally be getting. If he carries on like this then I might even begin to believe he was worth his £27million price tag and he's not just a fat fluke. :crazyboy:
It was nice to see Fletch back out there, at least this should put a stop to all the crap about him being ill and having to retire.

He will probably be another Gacoigne.. fat but with skills. Lets just hope fame and fortune gets over this kids head because if it does, its all over. Man U are also fortunate to have waited to find a player like Rooney, imagine if they would've gotten Owen??? Good move by Man U. Speaking of which, whatever happened to "Babyface Assasin"? Where is he these days? Is he still at Man U? Last time I heard he was injured... is he ever coming back?

Hmm, the million dollar question. He is still out injured and although he keeps saying he will be back it's looking less and less likely that he will return. I hope he does, he's a true United legend.

Agreed! A career of true sportsmanship... one of my best all time favorite strikers. :rockman:

Let's hope Man U acknowlegdes this and gives him a great position in the Man U when he retires from playing.
