Always nice too see our defenders score.
Silvestre scored from a header preseason, Gary scored two for us last season. Hoping to see more goals from set plays!

Fortune is crap at left-back, that not his position. O'Shea probably deputise him, but he too has been shaky in defence. Wish we have Heinze, Rio and Brown back soon to shore up our back-line.

great videos shokz, the euro one and the burnley match.

brilliant work from eagles, looks to have a smart football brain. can't wait to see him more this season.

Let's face it, our squad is nothing compared to our title rivals this year. Now I know that a huge squad with top class players doesn't automatically get you trophies but if you compare our squad with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal I can't really see us winning anything this season. I hope I'm wrong...

Howard's got to be as good as basically anyone else in the world right now.

Gary Neville, Silvestre, Heinze, Keane is as good a back four as you'll find outside of the tops of Italy (and even at that we'd be competitive)

Ronaldo, Scholes, Giggs are as good as they get, but that fourth midfield spot does seem a bit weak, though Fletcher and Kleberson are all capable players. Keane here too if we put O'Shea back into defense.

van Nistelrooy, Saha, Smith... Unless you've got Ronaldo, Raul, Morientes and Owen, our strikers are true class.

We absolutely still have the players to win.

Check out Eagles on our 3rd, bloody good move. (Y)

Fortune picked up an injury, but I dont see that as bad news. Infact, I'd be well pleased if Spector is given the green light to play, because he'd probably do a much better job at left-back until Heinze joins up after the Olympics.

It would hardly hurt to give one or two reserve players ago in the side instead of Forlan and Bellion. I have no doubt that Chris Eagles would definately benefit the team more than Bellion, who's only skill at the moment is running at the opponent and stumble.

I know we should give Bellion time, but we can't keep on using that excuse over and over. He's hardly done anything worth shouting about over the last year apart from decent performances in the reserves, and a goal against Leeds United and Spurs. I hope he proves me wrong in the near future.

that moves awesome, he kinda slowly back heels it, then brings the ball forward with his left foot (H)

because our players are injured. nistelrooy, saha, kleberson, brown, ole are injured while ronaldo and heinze are away to olympic. if you assume we have full squad now with the starting line up like this:

saha van nistelrooy
giggs scholes keane ronaldo
heinze silvestre ferdinand g.neville
howard

sub & reserves:
caroll, p.neville, fortune, o'shea, spector, brown, djemba-djemba, kleberson, miller, smith, forlan, bellion, fletcher, richardson, eagles and .....

you think our bench have enough places for all of them???

and please don't compare with chelsea. we don't have an unlimited transfer budget boss. spend almost £200m in 2 season. is quite interesting to see what they can achieve.

Ferguson rules out swoop

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has ruled out a pre-deadline swoop to ease his striking shortage.
Ruud van Nistelrooy (hernia) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (knee) are both long-term absentees, although Louis Saha could return sooner than expected.

Midfielder Quinton Fortune is the latest addition to United's lengthy casualty list with a thigh strain.

Ferguson said: "I would really love to bring in a new face, but if I'm being honest, I don't think it will happen."

Saha missed much of United's pre-season build-up with a knee injury, but has targeted the game against Norwich as a possible comeback.

United's cause is not helped by the loss of form of Uruguayan striker Diego Forlan.

Their £7m summer signing Alan Smith was forced to play as a lone striker in United's Premiership opener at Chelsea.

Not the best bench in the world is it...The starting line up is strong though one addition would be sweet but I'm talking about squad players (sub and reserves) and except for a few the bench isn't much to write home about though we do have some good young talents in there.

Fernandez

Team Captain
Last season, when he had a run. Sadly, his form never improved since then.

shokz, I kinda agree with you. Eagles and Spector should be given a chance to shine. And for Bellion, we should definitely loan him out. We have nothing to lose except the EPL and it will benefit the club and him.
