big-name players do not neccessary mean success, look at Real Madrid for example.

of course missing out on Ronaldinho and Robben was a real pity, but we got to move on, we can't just keep crying over it.

Who would not have Ronaldinho?
I see your point amdy, but that is players the club will not buy because of the prizes there are in fotball these days.
I sure would like to have some more"world class"players to Utd,but i dont see it happen this season,i am sure Hargreaves would make the team stronger!

All im saying and Vince and other people probably agree with me is that yeah, he isnt a bad player. But I think Manchester United should be aiming higher. People like Djemba, Kleberson, BELLION etc arent really Manchester United players. United are seen as one of if not the biggest club in the world. I think if your of that calibur, then you should have the best players in the world.

Like Ronaldinho, Joaquin, Aimar, Totti, Cannavaro. Im not saying those players exactly, of course some of them have just signed for new clubs, cant leave, or will never leave. But im saying top notch players who're regarded as the best in the world. I think they're the type of players United should be aiming to get. Not Solari etc, bigger players, and Hargreaves isnt a big game player.

:D
yes, we should get some bigger players otherwise dont get anyone. we have many good players and we need some great players. (H)

Let's not even begin to talk whether he is good or crap... but 20M?!?

For 20M we could get several players that are more useful to the team..

but bottom line is, we have no money..
forget the rumour..and i sure hope its not true..
much rather utd spend the 20M elsewhere...

Exactly... United don't want players like that.. Or do you?

If United wanna be the best in the world, or atleast known as one of them then I think they need a top top notch world class player. If Ronaldinho had of came then that would of been such a success, I don't think Arsenal would of won the league if Ronaldinho was in England, what a player he is.

But yeah, surely United had seen Joaquin, Figo, Aimar, Ronaldo etc ages ago. I just think it'd be nice if they'd of signed some big players. True big players arent always gonna do it for you but I think a big club like Manchester United have to have atleast one worldwide known star, not just for publicity, for winning games, with someone like Aimar, or someone like that then they would win games.

But it seems Sir Alex, always wants to get players who're either oldish, kinda dipping form, or are near the end of their careers. Hence Figo, and Solari isnt exactly young is he.

Oh and a United song lol

That was the 501st time you mentioned "van der Vaart", I've only mentioned Downing's name 7 times, this one makes 8.

Get your facts straight battyboy.

I trust SAF's signings, he knows what he is doing, he has built a championship team before without buying big players, he used unknown players back then, Giggs became a big player, Scholes, the Nevilles, Downing is a must, he can give very good crosses and he is fast, Hargreaves could be good it is a 50-50 chance, I believe that he can be good but 20m is a little bit to much and about his place in the England squad, there are a lot of good players, I mean like Joe Cole is good but he doesn't play in the English squad while he shows his stuff at Chelsea almost every week.

Edit: Did you know about Cristiano Ronaldo before he came to Man U?, I guess not but he is a big player in the making
