I have no doubt that if Man Utd did go in with a decent bid for Downing they would get him. Considering how English players seem to blossom in Utd.

Yes, Gill has made it clear that we have to sell before we can buy. We have a couple useless players to get rid of, so it's all good.

Its Keane im more worried about , hes the oldest and doesnt have much longer left in him . Hopefully we get solari though , he will be good for a few seasons and wont cost much.

if you consider a defendsive midfield role, i hope phil neville can solve it temporary (he is 28 btw). but in term of leadership role at center midfield. not much player could do what keane did in the past

I think that Phil can replace Keane, he has played some good matches in the defensive midfield position, like against Arsenal, and can add some extra attacking impulse cause he is fast and has the ability of scoring. And the most important is that he is not old.

Edit: and he has been walking around Man U for a long time, so he has got the experience

Yes, but we need hope that both Arsenal and Chelsea drop points too (Boro and Everton wont last there anyway, i think)

ideally want chelsea and arsenal to draw both their games against each other..

but what is more important is we win all our games...

no use if arsenal and chelsea lose all their remaining games if we don't win ours..

9 points with so long to go is nothing, we just need to concentrate on our own performances, get the wins.. draws wont do...

we can't afford to lost any points to any other team now. we must try our best to get as maximum as we can. concentrate on our own game. win as many as possible. no matter in EPl, UCL, FA Cup or League Cup. consistency, team spirit, goal scoring and the most important, WINNING are all the thing that we need now
