Why do the US think UK is a country?

This is for the geographically uninformed people. England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland are not states. They are countries. UK is like Scandanavia. Except, we have mouthy 14 year old females, who wear loads of make-up and Paty Butcher-like ear rings and around 4 in 10 of them are probably pregnant.

Last year on holiday, talking to a couple from *gulp*Texas, she says where you from? I reply England, Her spouse says, oh so what is Britain like, rainy and cold as ever? I was less than impressed.

It's the same in US and Canada if not worse. But when they finish University they all suddenly become good!

We (UK) have the worst teenage pregnancy rate in Europe, Gun crime in London has risen by 400%, and there is more crime in London in a single day, than New York in a week. Blair is a wanker. Actually, there is more crime in Elmbridge than New York in 24 hours according to the Guardian in April based on March's figures. Elmbridge is like 1/100 the size of London.
