wouldnt that be kewl !?!?!?!?!?!?!?

What does that bucktoothed future Arsenal player have to do with Tim Howard?

I really hope Howard doesn't move to Man Utd....we need him on the NT, and we all know how Ferguson is, i'll leave it to JJ to explain. ;)

Tim Howard is a great goalkeeper. I wouldn't rank him between Friedel and Keller, but I think he's definitely the best #3 option for now, and very likely our #1 at World Cup 2006 (unless Adin Brown runs him over in an :drevil: accident :drevil: ). I also doubt he'll ever be better than Friedel, although it's certainly possible.

I think it would be great for him and for American soccer if he would make a transfer to ManU. Can't say we'll miss him that much in MLS, the league has an abundance of goalkeeping talent (one of the reasons for .000426 goals-per-game scored on average so far this season  ) But if Howard eventually becomes the ManU #1 that would be an incredible achievement for American soccer. It's all speculation right now, so lets just wait and see what happens.

I don't think Ferguson would stop him playing for the USA, he hasn't stopped anyone this season, and that includes Veron playing in a meaningless friendly between Argentina and Japan in Tokyo, which I'd think would be a longer journey than a trip to the USA.

Yeah, Ronaldinho is almost at United, since Nike are interested in combining their Nike partner with their team.

And about Tim Howard. I just read on www.manutd.com that United will sign him for sure or already singed him! Great news.

Manchester United have entered talks with New York MetroStars about signing their goalkeeper Tim Howard, the Major League club have confirmed.
The 23-year-old suffers from Tourette's Syndrome - a neurological disorder that causes nervous tics and uncontrolled verbal outbursts or random swearing.

But Howard has worked hard to control the condition and may now be heading to the Premiership.

"I know there are discussions, but I don't know how serious they are," New York MetroStars head coach Bob Bradley told BBC GMR.

"A club like Manchester United, competing in the Champions League, needs top players. Tim is a young player who I think we will see move up the ladder quickly."

The deal could still stall over a visa for the goalkeeper.

Howard has yet to play for the United States in a serious international because of the form of Blackburn's Brad Friedel and Spurs' Kasey Keller.

Several other goalkeepers have also been linked with summer moves to Old Trafford, including Leeds' Paul Robinson and Southampton's Antti Niemi.

The speculation over a new goalkeeper arriving at Old Trafford has arisen since Fabien Barthez's poor performances against Real Madrid.

In the closing stages of United's campaign the Frenchman lost his place to Roy Carroll.

Arsenal are a nike team...Henry is a nike player, so is Freddie Ljungberg.

Plus we could give PSG Wiltord, and they'd be offloading a problem child and getting a French International.

It doesn't really matter there are 2 things why Ronaldinho would not go to Arsenal:
1)Arsenal won't offer anything to him, because they know that United would beat them in this transfer anyways
2)Arsenal can't afford him.

reports say that ManU have now offered 3mil for Howard. Sources also say that MLS has indeed accepted the offer.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Manchester United is on the verge of buying the rights to MetroStars goalkeeper Tim Howard for about $3 million, according to a published report.

The Herald News of West Paterson, citing two unnamed league sources, said the deal will be completed this week. MetroStars general manager Nick Sakiewicz would not comment on the report, but the team confirmed last week that the British club had inquired about purchasing Howard's contract.

Howard, who has been the MLS goalkeeper of the year for the past two seasons, has posted three shutouts this season and leads the league in saves, save percentage and goals-against average.

Ps: MLS was willing to let Brian McBride go to Everton. McBride chose to stay in MLS instead of uprooting his family(wife was pregnant at the time) and moving them to Britain for a 2 years tops just to have to move back to the US after.

Wow... if the deal really is completed... does that mean Howard leaves Metro halfway through the season?

PScott, where'd you get that info from? I can't find it.
