-Madrid have no need for him with Higuain and Benzema already
-Inter have no need for him with Eto'o and Milito
-Barca have no need for him with Villa, Messi, Pedro
-Chelsea have no need for him with Drogba, Anelka
-City have no need for him with Adebayor, Tevez

That's every team that can afford him

Not only that, but most of those teams play with one striker so they already have one high-profile striker sitting on the bench, now you're gonna spend maybe 50 million to add one more guy that's gonna have to sit more often than not?

United have the winter transer to resolve this or Rooney could buy his contract out for 5m next summer, so i don't know where u get a figure like 50m in mind....

- Barca would start Rooney over Pedro anyday
- Chelsea has already stated they would be keen to get him
- Real would buy him because Tito Floren is president
- Moratti wants a huge name for Inter he just mentioned a player like Messi.
- Citehs owners wanna be like Tito Floren and Madrid

The point is everyone would want Rooney on their team no matter what, he is that kind of player. Fergie made a huge mistake by benching his all star. The fact is United have lost Tevez, Rooney, CR7 in two years cuz of some mistakes by Fergie. We're talking about 3 players who are among the best in the world.

LOL...I'm just going to requote this statement I made back in June...

So just as I predicted, it looks like Rooney injured himself.

You should all start preparing yourselves mentally from now for him to have a disaster of a season with us.

In the past two seasons almost every United supporter here has given me stick for my 'doom and gloom' attitude while most of you just went on blindly drinking Ferguson's kool-aid...look where it has gotten us: a team that was already going to struggle to place top 4 and is now losing our talisman and last remaining elite player.

Bayern will take him off your hands. Rooney likes drinking beer right? We'll even send you WORLD CUP HERO Miro Klose for your troubles.

Wow the media was right afterall... WTF I never expected this. Its his career and his decision, so I have nothing against that.

The media are like ticks. They suck and suck on every headline until eventually there's nothing left or it dies out.

Btw, I wouldn't worry much about finding a good replacement for Rooney, just try to get as much as possible for him. There are players out there that can fit as a replacement.

We'll throw in Vieira too. He has 1 goal scored on 1 total shot this season, 100% and way better than Rooney's been.

ESPN says it is reported that Rooney's chief reason for wanting to leave is that he wants a higher wage. Supposedly he is demanding 250k a week.

So basically, he's selling out. What a little bitch.

Well now that Fergie himself has confirmed it, the stories are true after all. But its not like he's gonna leave right away. Still have a season to persuade him. But WTF, part of me says sell that scouse punk. He has a disappointing WC, cheats on his wife and now hes not happy at united? Seriously, he can piss off. Times like this..it makes me appreciate players like giggs, scholes neville park oshea and fletch. True professionals.

Oh and I think Rooney chose a really bad time to reveal that. Wonder how the fans gonna react.

Looks like Fergie is occupying that perch that he knocked Liverpool off.

Gonna be fun pushing him off it now (H)!

The timing for this makes absolutely no sense for anyone concerned. Wayne can't get a move until january at the earliest so venting all this now could see him forced to rot in the reserves and for the club its a even bigger disaster because everyone now knows he could leave for a minimal fee or even for free if he runs down his contract, so we won't get the money that we arguably need from our biggest asset in the playing staff leaving. No-one will pay big money for him with the contract near an end.

I think if he doesn't want to be a United player anymore then he must be moved on, players are never at their best when their heart isn't in it. Regretfully I believe he will join Manchester City and Fergie will be powerless to stop him (he looked defeated in the press conference).

I reckon that this is partially about money (don't believe that he would've been made the highest earner in the PL had he agreed a contract with us like Gill was suggesting) but also a lack of ambition from the club. We've allowed the likes of Tevez and Ronaldo to go without truly replacing them and I think the money we have had available hasn't been spent as effectively as it could have given the fees paid for unproven players like Bebe and Smalling (Van der Vaart was only an extra 1mil than Bebe, thats not value for money on our part).

After clinging on to Rooneys nuts for so many years, its funny to see how united fans are turning on him. He seen that the ship is sinking and wants to get off before its too late, clever move.

LMAO

This whole saga seems eerie to me.
- First he wants out since last year (which I doubt).
- Second he wants more money (why wouldn't you raise your best players salary after a season like he had last year, going for the golden boot)
- Third how the hell does a manager like ferguson allow this to happen, I mean CR7, Tevez, and Rooney wtf???

If you guys bench him till January it would be stupid, you would bring his price to the floor.
- He's cup tied
- He's out of form

What you expect 40m?????

If Fergie is stupid and arrogant enough to bench him, I hope he sticks it out till march and moves for a measly 5m to a club of his choosing. Maybe even this:

The way Rooney is going about this one is utterly disrespectful. Its not like he has been putting in world class performances to be demanding ludicrous amount of money (if reports are true which I believe is very likely).
