Some sources are saying Anderson could be out for 2 months.

:willis:

That's bad news, we are getting Valencia back and Anderson is taking his place in the physio room. We could have used them for our next 6 games.....

It is Anderson's knee...the only question now is WHICH knee it is. If it's the same one he blew out last season, you can kiss his career goodbye, as that injury will plague him for the rest of his playing days.

I'm really curious to know if it's his already-repaired knee, as I predicted that would happen to him again.

Also, Giggs and Rio didn't travel with the team for the game in France...not so worried about Rio, as Smalling can fill in admirably...it would've been nice to have Giggs though as I assume Park is still out.

Man..not at the crucial part of the season. Now we are left with carrick scholes and fletch. Carrick needs a kick up his arse. He's capable of better performances than the ones he has been putting in of late. We will miss Ando's energy.

Fletcher also needs a BIG kick in his butt. We'll have to play with Carrick and Fletcher till pretty much the end of the season now.

Also, I'm wondering who will play on the wing against Marseilles??? Thats worrying. We only have Nani as natural winger now. I'm guessing Rooney? Obertan and Bebe are useless and should not be anywhere near the starting 11.

I would try Evra or Rafael as winger for that game TBH. They are great at attacking so why not?

Rooney Berbatov

Evra Carrick Fletcher Nani

O'Shea Vidic Smalling Rafael

VDS

OR

Rooney Berbatov

Nani Carrick Fletcer Rafael

Evra Vidic Smalling O'Shea

VDS

I'm pretty sure Fergie will play this:

Berbatov

Rooney---------------------Nani

Carrick Fletcher Gibson

Evra Vidic Smalling Rafael

VDS

This doesn't look too bad.

Thats the team which travelled btw. Can't wait.

Full Manchester United squad:

Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Lindegaard;

Vidic, O'Shea, Brown, Rafael, Fabio, Evra, Smalling;

Scholes, Gibson, Nani, Carrick, Fletcher, Bebe, Obertan, Tunnicliffe;

Rooney, Berbatov, Hernandez, King.

Anderson will be on the side lines for just three weeks according to SAF.......Valencia is also training with the rest of the group. He has been pencilled in for the Arsenal or Leyton Orient game....

Let's get to work, the serious stuff starts now. Oh and if Gibson starts tomorrow, I'll cry.

We have only 4 midfielders and I'm pretty sure we'll play 4-3-3 which means there's a 75% chance that Gibson will play. :willis: Lets hope he scores 1 long range and get subbed off (or sent off).

hasnt been too pretty so far. 50/50 from the teams.

Everyone always knocks Gibson and I always think its a little harsh, he isnt that bad But damn Gibson and Carrick's mistakes have been standing out.

And why does Nani keep losing his footing, bit unusual? Pitch?

Help?

Gibson has actually started some nice attacks in the first half. His long range passing has been on point since Crawley game. Too bad we can't hold on to the ball in midfield with three guys! Heinze is not enjoying Nani's company right now

Disappointing game. Not a single real scoring chance for either team the entire game.

0-0 isn't the worst result in the world though. If we are at full strength and field our best team in the return leg I would expect us to run the game and have no problems getting a win in our fortress.

Smalling seems to be doing a fine job at CB...which is a great thing as Rio is going to become less and less reliable in the next few seasons. Carrick and Fletcher have become next to useless though. We need new blood in the midfield.
