I think it makes perfect sense for Suarez to come to Liverpool. He is a great young player and let's face it, the Dutch league is pretty much irrelevant. Now he gets to come play in the best league in the world, which will help him develop further as a player.

As for Torres...I think 'Pool would be dumb to sell him. If he can manage to stay healthy for an extended amount of time, he's still one of the top strikers in the world, and now he'd have a great striking partner in Suarez. But I could understand him wanting to leave because the club is going nowhere fast and won't be in CL again next season, and a top player like F9T has to be able to play on the biggest stage.

It doesn't make sense. Considering Liverpool's current state, he could as well have joined Blackburn or Sunderland.

Took Southampton too long to score, actually, they should be like 2-0 up. That being said I don't expect United to lose this, not despite but because they had such a terrible first half.

Not surprising considering Ferguson rolled out the forfeit lineup, as he likes doing for Cup games.

No different than when we got blasted 4-0 in the Carling Cup by whatever the hell scrub team we played.

If we had some wingers out there we would've killed them off by now. I think 442 now with Anderson and Obertan on the wings and we'd see a vast improvement.

Why do our boys always have to do that? Play crap in the first half, making us nervous, and then come back strong in the second.....good performance from Smalling once again. Obertan had a decent game as well. Chicha remains a true predator....the scouts deserve to get a pay raise after finding this kid.....I liked to look of Lindegaard. He did not have much to do but was composed and very good on the ball, not many keepers out there whom wants to keep possession instead of kicking the ball forward to nowhere

I was never a big fan of Obertan. He sometimes shows some glimpse of brilliance, but it takes many games for him to shine in one of them. Overrated imo. That being said, he did well to create Owen's goal, although it was a bit flukey. Anderson is not a winger and sould never be playing there. Park coming back next week is very reassuring.

Chicharito = hero once again. I love him. How many winners did he score? He scored 11 goals already, most of them being crucial.

And not to forget Giggs... He changed the game like last week.

Well, by now it's pretty clear that playing with one winger isn't very effective :p

It's really worrying that our squad doesn't have any depth at all. Park coming back, as already said, will make things a lot better but any injuries to back four or the midfield will be disasterous, especially if you look at the our upcoming fixtures in february and march, when we have to play ****ty, Pool, Chelsea and Marseille twice...

I think we have depth. We have 6 wingers. If we had more, that would've been too much and it would be hard to keep everyone happy. We will need a new winger when Giggs leaves. We do have enough depth in all departments IMO but we lack quality in some positions: Central midfield. Gibson should be sold while he's still worth something. We need a new CM when Scholes retires as well. So we need at least 2 new CMs.

In defence we have Smalling who's proven to be very reliable. Even Evans has been good in his last few games. So I'm not very much worried as much as I was last season.

Not surprised about the game at all. As soon as Gibson went off we suddenly took over the game, just like against Blackpool. He really isn't doing anything for us right now, he seemed better last season.

I said it many times that we're better off with 10 men than with him in the team lol.

If he were 18-20 something I'd say he will improve. But he's 23 now, 24 this year. By this age, most players start to show their worth. Its time to dump him, just like we did with Richardson.

They only reason i said Anderson was purely because (without making subs too early on) he would be the better option out of the 3 we had in the middle. Not a fan of Gibson on the wing.

Obertan is fantastic when he is on form, can get past anyone and create something out of nothing. Give him another year or two to work on his consistency and i reckon he'll be as good as Nani.

Our passing was really bad today, but we hung in there and made the most of our few chances. Given the team we fielded today and the way they played for most of the game I think we have to feel pretty good about how things turned out.

was it just me or did united look tight in defense? they let Southampton run around like crazy while sitting back, then hitting them with giggs and nani's pace and fresh legs beat em in the last 35 minutes of footie? for all Southampton passing and running the didnt create much.

all i know if we get someone with the ability to hit hernandez more times than not when he runs the channels? watch out!
