Don't know why Rooney had to do that to be honest. A lot of other ways to channel your emotions particularly after scoring a hat-trick.

Drogba got banned for 6 games for swearing to the cameras after the Barca defeat in the CL 2 years ago. That being said, the FA would probably look at this differently.

Well there's a huge difference between Drogba and Rooney though.....Didier was questioning the integrity of the ref (which he was right to do so to be honest), where as Rooney was showing emotions....... I´ve sweared a couple of times after scoring important goals as well and can understand what Rooney was feeling at that moment.....don't get me wrong though, I am not condoning his reactions as millions were watching the game, but it is a bit too much to ban him..... a fine would be enough IMO, he apologized for it as well......, I guess we will hear more about it tomorrow.....

Oh and tits.
Ban would be too much...... i feel sorry for him he is pissed off big time. He seems to enjoy nothing. As if he is fighting a war against the whole world.

I understand what you're saying but the sole reason why Drogba got punished is because he was "caught swearing at the cameras", Bosingwa was the one who questioned the integrity of the ref.(and got a 4 match ban)

This was what UEFA had to say after the charges were given.

We have to set certain standards. We do have a 'Respect' campaign and the Uefa president (Michel Platini) is instrumental behind that.

The players are key to that, in setting a good example both on and off the pitch. The club obviously has a responsibility for the way their players behave as well.

All in all, that's the reasoning for the decision.

-Rob Faulkner, UEFA head of communications. Source: BBC

Drogba swearing to camera = Rooney swearing to camera.

But like I said before, UEFA and the FA are different governing bodies, they'll deal with it differently.

What? F*cking what? What? (H)

I think players swear in every games but Rooney's case is different because he was looking at the camera while swearing. It was directed at the camera. Whether he should be banned or not is debatable but I think he should get some sort of punishment. A fine would be alright I think but I wouldn't be pissed if he was banned for a few days because what he did was stupid.

That being said, we are lucky that we have Berbaclass ready to play if ever Rooney was banned.

Yes Dytza, VDS should be able to play.

He won't play against Fulham and C*ty. No big deal. We have Berba.

EDIT:
Just found out the FA Chairman is this guy:

David Bernstein: former City board member and chairman was appointed the chairman of the FA at the start of the year. When leaving City he claimed that he "has supported City since his boyhood and is desperate for them to succeed."

Now this sounds very suspicious. Why not a 1 match ban or a 3 match ban? Why a 2 match ban which puts Rooney out of the City game. Coincidence?

Help?

The ban seems fair to me. Its one thing to swear on the field and its another thing to do it in front of millions of people. Although, personally I still can't understand exactly what Rooney said to the camera, just like i'm sure millions of people can't.

But what do you expect? I'm not trying to knock his parents, but we all know the environment he was raised in, which suddenly stopped when he turned 17 and since then considering what happened how can anyone could have expected him to develop into a normal mature man? He may be 25, but make no mistake his development stopped at 17, just as I would expect when you give a 17 year old street kid from a working class family anything he can wish for.

He said "******* what? What?! ******* what?

Looking back at the incident:

He looked angry when he threw these words. Weird. Why the hell would he do that?! Was he swearing at the camera man?

He's got the emotional maturity of a hooligan.

lol he will never change. At least he's not doing it that often now.

Oh and tits.
He is just pissed off with his life....his wife and the hooker....the World Cup....then the transfer request nonsense....constant criticism from fans....

But honestly all the circumstances were created by himself and the earlier he realizes that better for him.....he is angry and depressed but he should act more matured at least "ACT"....I don't wanna see him lose his aggression as I guess we won't see the same Rooney....

what the heck is wrong with these people...instead of talking about Rooneny's hat-trick...They are talkin about swearing? footballers swear like there's no tomorrow and rooney was all emotional and releasing all that pent up frustration. 'kin hell... parents are the ones reponsible for their kids, children, boys, girls and not rooney.
