No Fletcher was playing Central Midfield because Keane just left and Scholes got injured for most of the season. Veron had left few seasons ago as well leaving us with ni Central midfield. Ronaldo and Giggs were on the wings alternating everytime. Fletcher was playing on the right wing one or 2 seasons before that. We finished either 3rd or 2nd. Can't remember. We had beaten Chelsea that season with Fletcher scoring that superb header.

I didn't realise Fletcher had been around for so long. Damn, how time flies huh?

I remember thinking back then like Mikey, that maybe he didn't have it. To be honest, I think he's come on a hell of a lot since those days.

I know I've slagged him off in the past, but when you think of the years he's worked at his game, patiently waiting for his chance season after season, and then making a pretty effective job of it when he got the chance, I think he deserves to do well. I think a loyal player like that has earned it.

I still hate him because he plays for you lot of course (Y) but I think he's done well.

I was going to say that :innocent_smile_1:

Yeah I didn't think Fletcher would make it then so its a testimony to just how well he's done. He deserves it for his commitment to us.

Scholes did well to come back from the 05/06 season. He had an eye injury didn't he? Similar thing forced Sutton to retire I think.

My dear United fans, please change your avatar and signatures. I saw so many people using these protest signs in facebook as well..

If you want I'll change the background to grey as well.

Within 2 points of the top of the league, Carling final, tied at meanest defense, most goals scored and you're still making such a big deal out of this. When it starts affecting the footie and you don't finish the league in the Top 2, then complain.

I know the Glazers messed things up, but they still oversaw the last few years where you won a bunch of titles. Or have you forgotten that?

Can you elaborate what you mean by "oversaw"?

They were in charge when all of that happened. Another board could have restricted Fergie more, or asked him to change some **** around. The current financial swamp you find yourselves in hasn't affected you on the pitch, yet.

Get off the bandwagon, kp. What you're doing doesn't even count as protesting, it's just pointless complaining.

The Green-Yellow "protesting" is a nice gesture. But you're forgetting that Manchester United is red. We are the Red Devils and we were the Red Devils before the takeover and we will be the Red Devils for a long time after they're gone as well.

Well, they had NOTHING to do with all the titles won. All these titles won should be solely attributed to Fergie for his work before the Glazers came. We still had the money to buy a few players when the Glazers came, true. But this is further increasing the debt. The financial swamp hasn't affected us yet since they are always taking loans to provide us with the money we need. They just took a 500 million bond and this should allow us to buy a few players for now. But how about the interest? This will have to be paid later on further increasing the debt.

The future is dark when they are around. It is unfair thinking that every pound United fans spend to buy tickets or marchandise, 79 pence goes into paying the Glazers debt or pocket. They are just greedy money minded people who don't care at all about the club. They only care about their own business and United is just a way for them to make up for their debt.

Damn unlucky for Nani to get a red card, he lunged in, but he got the ball, with 10 men we still dominated large parts of the game. Rooney was brilliant once again, but as it stands atm one point isn't bad considering Everton is leading Chelsea by 2-1

Yeah that was harsh. He definitely went for the ball and got it. Should've been a yellow IMO.

Wouldn't be bad if chelsea lost. At least the gap will be closed. But we could've been on top today :( I was happy with today's performance. The Nani red card killed the game.

Thank god for Saha, made Walton's performance not seem so bad afterall. If you are going to book Evans for a pull back and send off Nani for that tackle, then what was Celluar and Young still doing on the pitch after 90 minutes?

Help?

I wouldn't say so. Nani's sending off was disappointing and Walton turning blind eye to the rest of the tackles was a real kick in the teeth. Valencia twice was heckled down with no intention of playing the ball. Aston Villa beat all 4 teams this season and we managed to put in a good performance at Villa Park with a man down for an hour.

Well, I am disappointed any time we drop points at all, especially if it's against anyone other than Chelsea, Arsenal or 'Pool.

In my mind we have no business dropping points to anyone in the Premiership except those 3 teams.

I am actually satisfied. Because we gave our best and dominated even with 10 players. I thought we played very well but with 10 men and playing away you're obviously gonna find it hard to find the net. The only disappointment was the Nani red card which killed the momentum. I am confident we can overcome Chelsea... Our team is starting to shape up nicely now.
