Can't comment too much because I couldn't watch it live (UK broadcast regulations yet again)

It sounds like Nani had quite a game - I just saw an interview with him on MUTV. Wayne's on now - four goals for him. I think that's the first interview he's conducted in English too.

Kp - Don't worry about the reports of selling Wayne, that's just the press and Real Madrid's usual outlets sh*t stirring like they usually do. The press and media do not like us. I expect the Sunday papers (News of the World and the People) will have some "follow up" story.

Top of the league, although it might not be for long, at least we're there.

Looking good for the City game. Let's do em (and then Arsenal)

yeah, it's the damn time.

Wayne should stay and wear that mighty 7 shirt next season. The transition should continue at Old Trafford.

Best
Robson
Cantona
Beckham
Ronaldo
and it's Rooney time.

Unfortunatly I couldn't watch the game, but I heard and read good things about especially Nani. I hope he keeps up his form. I think it is a major difference for him when playing on the right side

Man of the match undoubtedly Wayne Rooney.

Nani deserves more first team outing ! Take a bow son for those ******* great chances you created, Owen missed quite a few chances and Scholes too had a very good game!

What a day for Rooney, it's not everyday you score 4 goals! Some other thoughts:

-Good day for Nani, his cross on the 3rd goal was great stuff.

-Gibson should never be allowed on the field again. He made two terrible passes within 5 minutes of being on the field and then of course took that shot like an idiot even though he had Rooney WIDE F***ING OPEN on the left, would've surely been yet another goal.

-Shameful antics by Rio. I can see he is becoming another Gary Neville (ie, an idiot). Get him the hell out of the team this summer.

-I'm not sold on Rafeal or Fabio yet. They are too small and are going to get pushed around. Can you imagine them trying to deal with a big strong striker like Drogba or Adebayor?

-We're not in first place, as far as I see it we're still in third. Chelsea have two in hand and Arsenal one, and I will assume those will all be victories, which will push us to third.

You forgot to mention that he made an assist as well.

And the fact that the twins being only 19 years old are yet to be pushed around by anybody and marking guys like Drogba or Adebayor is not their job. The twins actually look to be bigger built than Neville or Evra.

I think he was referring to Rio's hit on Fagan. From what I can remember in the previous game Fagan constantly kept trying to wind-up Evra and get our players booked, he seems like a dirty player so there is a possibility that he said something.

I hope today's match will convince Fergie to forget about the "lone striker" tactic because we play much more entertaining and creative football with a 4-4-2.

What the hell. 4 goals for Rooney :D Didn't expect that. Players who made the difference were Rooney and Nani. I also have a feeling he does much much better on the right. Delivers more crosses. Glad that he finally got an assist on his name after so many great crosses today. Finally starting to show his worth.

So 19 goals in 22 games for Rooney this season. Impressive ratio. If you compare his goalscoring stats with Torres or Drogba: 12 in 15 and 14 in 18. Rooney's ratio is the greatest.

Back to the top for now. Arsenal with 1 game in hand and Chelsea 2 games in hand.

Very impressive, I didn't realise it was quite as good as that. He's really risen to the challenge this season now Ronaldo is gone. Nani seemed to have a good game which will do his confidence the world of good.

Cheers for the link.

Owen didn't have that many straight forward chances in fairness to him, probably should've done better with that shot on 3.42 on the video. The header wasn't a bad effort really. At least he's getting a match, won't convince Capello on the bench. Seems he's useful to have in the squad though, I read on SkySports that Rooney constantly goes to him for advice.

I like the way that Rooney went straight to the players who set him up for his goals. Especially Berbatov and Nani, who could do with the boost at the moment.

Definately a good performance, I was very pleased with Nani's display, that will do his confidence the world of good - and it looked like the right side suits him better.

Much much better display all round and we seem to be heading in the right direction at last.

I think it's time at last. With G. Nev's days nearing their end, Rooney must (and has begun to) step up and take the responsibilities as captain, in practice if not officially. He's no longer the up and coming youngster of the team; he is by now one of the more experienced players in the premier league (he's played professionally for eight years already!) and under Ferguson. He also has the mentality, the outlook, and the commitment to lead and inspire the team when they flag. Ronaldo was our creative spark and driving force last year, but Rooney has been our talisman for a long time now. It's time he was rewarded.

I think Fergie will use Gary in a second leg. I hope Gary doesn't do any thing stupid if he plays.

btw, what do you think about Rumors that Vidic will go and we will replace him with Chiellini.

Nothing but class from Fergie's boys on that 2nd goal. As usual.

As usual? Hull City had the ball when their player was on the ground and they easily could've kicked the ball out of play so he can get treatment but they opted not to. After regaining possession, we're not expected to kick the ball out are we?
