Probably. The second best guy for penalties would be Ryan Giggs.

I always thought Rooney was a great penalty kicker but his penalty statistics are poor. 13 out of 20 which is just 65%. Not acceptable.

EDIT: I don't think RvP is our "best player" but he sure is the best finisher. Our best player is Rooney because of his overall contribution. When Rooney was injured, we were having difficulty clicking as a team.

Oh and tits.
I think RVP is your best player and he showed against Chelsea that he is arguably the best player in the league. He is a joy to watch as a footballer.

I have no hard feelings against him anymore and it is clear he made the right decision for his career. Against us he showed what I thought he had when he was ours- a spine and the cojones.

It is sometimes hard to appreciate what you have because you know you have it. It is incredible to see what a player he has become. He has relegated Rooney to his little bitch within a few games!

I hope Stan,PHW and Gazidis get run over by a train.

I don't think so. Without Rooney, he wouldn't be scoring that many goals. Many of his goals came from Rooney masterpieces. Rooney has changed role since RvP came. He now assumes the SS/AMF role which he was always best at.

I'm happy they're playing so well together. They don't seem to be competing against each other to score goals. They're helping each other for the team as a whole.

Rooney was incredible against us and is a great player for sure but Van Persie would do as much with or without him. I can assure you that. His runs are so obvious to pick. Has astonishing speed of thought+the ability to make what he thinks happen almost effortlessly. He very rarely wastes many balls or gets dispossessed. And as having seen him at Arsenal I can tell you he is just nearing full fitness and sharpness. That crispness and smoothness in his touches. That time he turned a Chelsea player and put Young through...that first strike that hit the post for the first goal...his touch and skill to get his shot away in the Hernandez goal.

I stand by my claim that Robin Van Persie is your best player and probably the best in the league.

Oh and to add to that first part of the post- its usually when he is reaching this incredible level he gets injured ;-)

by the way I think your best finisher is Hernandez in its truest sense. RVP will just get into goal scoring positions countless times and score a few through his incredible movement and technique though I can't exactly call him clinical like say a Falcao.

You'd better behave yourself this time!

off topic, last 3 pages have nothing to do with United.

Its all because of this twat Arnau who noses his Chelski stuff into every thread.

No one cares about Chelsea ..not even clattenberg

I agree with Nady, Pogba4Life, Rooney is our best player in terms of contribution, I really like and enjoy his new role. That being said, Rooney should still take it.
