Depay is playing behind Rooney and Mata right wing. That makes no sense at all. Depay is fast, use him on the flanks. Mata is slow as hell, should play AMF because he can make through passes. What do the Chelsea fans think of Mata on the wings?

Decent game for a first preseason but that defense is shaky. Schneiderlin has been great and Darmian decent. Depay has been good too but he should be on the flanks.

Schweiny coming on 2nd half.

I don't like tall wing backs because they are less stable because of their higher centre of gravity but we are shit at defending headers so he can be useful.

Solid 1st half. But a bit worried with the back 4 in the 2nd half. Darmian has been great. Schneidi has been excellent, really composed. Memphis was solid without being fantastic.

Pereira, Wilson and Januzaj..weren't they together in the U21s few seasons back? now the are the front 3.

Schweinsteiger is going to have a huge impact on this team, I can tell already. He is going to expect so much more than what some of these players are showing. Already seen a few times where Schweinsteiger made a pass into a tight space, but nonetheless it was still a pass that any member of Bayern would have been able to control and keep possession, and the United player gave away the ball. He's just going to demand a level of technique and intelligence (there have been some poor decisions with the ball too) and these guys will be a lot better for it. I think Schneiderlin in particular is going to become really world class as a result of Schweinsteiger.

Blackett is laughably bad.

We have not had a worldclass midfielder like Schweinsteiger for a very long time so if he keeps playing at his current level for a few years, he will make a huge impact. Last player we had who was as good as Schneiderlin was probably Scholes in before 2008. Midfield was an area that was hugely neglected by Alex Ferguson.

Blackett is good as an LCB in a 3 man defense but bad as LB or a CB in a 2 man CB pair.

I have said before; Pereira looks like a much better prospect than Januzaj IMO. If I'm not mistaken his preferred position is AMF and he plays pretty well there based on a few reserves games I have seen. He had a pretty good U20 WC with Brazil also. He came off the bench most of the time I think but he did make an impact with assists and goals.

He was great on the left for AVB but he didn't have to track back. He was poor for Mou because he did.

Holy shit STOP with the Muller rumors. "United set to test Bayern's resolve to keep the player." He's the club's resolve: they won't sell for any amount of money. We already rejected a fucking Pogba sized offer, it's not going to happen.

No he's not as good as Bale technically, but I think his mentality and movement, in addition to his underrated technical ability, makes him invaluable. I wasn't kidding when I said that I wouldn't sell him for 150m.
