Schneiderlin is basically a Manchester United player after passing his medical and paperwork tonight (england time) and will be announced with Basti in tomorrows USA press conference, these according to SkySportsNews.
Darmian, Basti and Morgan will be on the touring squad. Excellent work by Woodward to get those deals finalised in a space of 5 days or so.

Schneiderlin would be fantastic if he could play as well or better than the last 2 years. On top of that, he qualifies as a home grown player because he moved to England at the age of 18.
Schweinsteiger is past it but he still has some in him and could have 3 good seasons. He is also a leader which we lack and has experience. When he is not good anymore, we will still have 3 good young midfielders (Herrera, Fellaini and Schneiderlin if he joins).
There will be a lot of competition in central midfield with these 2 new acquisitions. We will have 6 players as central midfielders if you consider Blind a midfielder (Carrick, Herrera, Blind, Schweiny, Schneiderlin, Fellaini). At least this means Rooney will never play as a central midfielder anymore. Mata will probably have to sit on the bench as a sub for the wingers. With these players I assume we will play 4-3-3 with 2 CMs and 1 DM.

I think 4-4-2 Diamond is the best formation based on current signings ... it can be easily converted 3-5-2 with players like Blind and Darmian, and our current midfield additions.
Btw, there are rumors fucking Di Maria is on his way to PSG which is good. We are also linked to Benteke ... I think 1 striker and 1 central defender will finish the job. Good job Woodward.

Diamond 4-4-2 is not good because we invested a lot on Di Maria and Depay; 60 m + 22 m. We should play them in their best positions. I hope Di Maria stays because there are very little quality wingers. He had a bad year because he joined a new league and more importantly, I think that break in to his home impacted him significantly. Even in a season where he was deemed as shit, he made 10 assists and scored 3. i.e. 1 goal or assist every 126 minutes.
As a comparison Fabregas, who had a great season and was the top assist maker has 1 goal or assist every 137 minutes.

I still remember the time when some of us criticized him so much that we wanted him out. 2 seasons later he gets us: Mata, Shaw, Herrera, Blind, Rojo, (Falcao), Depay, Darmian, Schweini, & Schneidi.
