Los Pollos Hermanos Tijuana Succession Game

Make America Great Again
Just for future reference, I have most fun on FM when I have tons of money to spend. I'm sure you'll notice a trend in succession games I end up actually playing.

Me too, but I just figured it'd be fun to try one without a sugar daddy. You only play one season at a time in a succession game, so the patience factor of building a great team doesn't really come into play. At least that's how I experience it. And imagine how satisfying it'll be once we actually get to that point of being rich and conquering South America. It'd be a great and rare FM success story.

Besides, if you play one season, the Mexican league is very fun and exciting. I ended 7th in the regular season, but still won the league. There's great parity.

So things aren't going too well in TJ-land. First, we have this:

Carlos*son Martinez possibly wants out. This is considering that he was out a month due to getting injured while on international duty, and not being fit while we're at the end of the first third of the season.

I told him that if he sticks around that he will see improvements, but I don't think he bought it.

Meanwhile, I landed this gem:

It's baffling that Chivas let him go and he's unattached.

The problem is that he wants 32,000 a week and I can only offer him 27.5. How the hell do I manage to wiggle around more wage funds to keep this guy?

He's currently on trial for a month, which one week has already passed. Suggestions?

Maybe compensate the difference with bonuses? We also shouldn't have any big contract veterans on the bench, definitely try to get rid of those. For example, I take it Dayro Moreno is already gone. Played only one game last season while on a 70k euro per month contract (which was expiring). We definitely can't have that.

What does the team look like now? Are Arevalo Rios & co still around? The American guy from Toluca looked like a decent replacement.

Started off strong, but have dropped three in a row. Halfway through the season I'm borderline playoff team, but there are a lot of teams in that position.

I've also flip flopped with formations a little too much due to lack of depth at important positions. There were also several injuries at the start of the season. The team is huge but about 80% of the players are ******* scrubs.

This is my current formation, but will probably see changes given the dip in that we're in.

Dayro Moreno is still in the club. I tried to ship him, but nobody was interested. Tried to mutually terminate contract, but he didn't accept.

Good news!

This, while good, it sucks at the same time. After a month in the squad on trial, five assists later and a new contract... he's ineligible to play until the end of the season. How stupid is that?

By the way, Carlos*son Martinez has been terribly under performing. He's been in and out of games due to injuries, misses sitters and has only one goal to his name through about 10 appearances. What gives? Is it because he's not a good lone striker?

I just played my first season at Chelsea for a little fun on my vacation and Torres is on about 20 hours without a goal, just like real life. It happens sometimes.

Well, he finally scored after an 8 or so game drought streak.

The problem is he was outperformed by his ex teammate Jose Sand.

Jose Sand and Carlos*son Martinez... it must hurt to see them in different colours on the same field. Magnificent bastards. :(

Looks like due to lack of consistency, lack of scoring and lack of good depth, we're on the outside of the playoff race. :(

Might take a miracle to make it...

Well, you have another shot in the Clausura. But do expect this guy to monitor you every training session... Gus won't take this lightly.

Being out of ideas and feeling the pressure of Gus's expressionless face, I did something out of desperation. I brought on a motivational speaker.

I was told to leave the room, so I have no idea what he said, but the guy is GOOD.

Who was that motivational speaker you might ask?

Whatever he said worked. Might have to keep him around just to manage things if you get my drift...

In a totally unrelated turn of events, it is rumored that at the Chivas' training grounds there was a severed head with a note about a week ago before their remaining games. Then Chivas inexplicably lost their remaining games.

Table at the end:

Coincidence? I don't believe in that ****! I'll just take it as help from the big guy!

Hahaha, excellent! Chivas were ''flying a little too close to the sun'', if you catch my drift...

After the close call we are back against a familiar foe... those pesky Northern Tigers.

Game 1:

Unfortunately after an early lead, Tigres tied it up and near the end Sand buried the winner...

Leg 2

More of the same. Domination by Tigres and Xolos go home and Tigres keeps on. Oh well...

I'll have to scour everywhere to find some cheap but skilled players to try to come back strong next season, which is right around the corner!

Keep an eye on the expiring contracts for next season. Hopefully some gems are available.

Perhaps we should also look for future stars around South America, even Brazil and Argentina. We should ensure the five foreigner spots will one day be occupied by some South/Middle American greats that we got for cheap.

By the way, how's Wallace? In order for him to get a Mexican passport he must spend time in Mexico. If you're going to loan him out, try to loan him out to a Mexican team.

He's still loaned out unfortunately. He was gone to Vasco before I got a chance to check him out for the whole year apparently...

I suppose by scouring it just meant picking up on the players Chivas decided to throw out...

Pretty solid considering they're all free transfers. Not to mention Marco Fabian, another Chivas exile, joined the club at the winter break. (H)
