I would be better off and more happy watching Liverpool's destruction than the awful Man Utd game. This scoreline pretty much sums up Gerrard's time at the club. (H) I wonder what is going through Sterling's mind.

Mame Biram Diouf scored 2 goals. What a true red.

And lastly, Brendan Rodgers is a football genius. 100+ million pounds spent on garbage. Liverpool should keep him.

Yes, this 6-1 defeat perfectly summarizes his 15+ year career which includes winning the Champions League.

Rodgers isn't the Director of Football. He likely has no control over transfer policy.

I expected a reply like this from someone. (H) Obviously there was a lot of sarcasm in my post. Other than not winning the EPL, I think he should be proud of his Liverpool career. He won the UCL, 2 FA Cups and the UEFA cup.

I don't agree with the facetious statements about Gerrard and Xavi but to be fair, playing for Spain and England is not the same thing.

Both are quite different kinds of players though, so a straight up comparison between them is kind of pointless. Having played for the same clubs throughout their whole careers and having managed to maintain a good form almost every season they played (winning CLs etc) pretty much writes their names in the footballing history and in a very good way, I think it's safe to say that.

So... Xaviesta, saying something in the mold of Xavi pisses on Gerrard is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?

I think they're very comparable actually. Both played more attacking roles before gradually moving deeper to suit their skillset. Their level of play isn't that off at their peak, it's like comparing Pele and Romario. I do think that Xavi was the better, if more annoying, player.

Liverpool won 5 cups that year that Liverpool fans were bragging about! Xavi has not.

UEFA Cup, FA Cup, League cup, Charity shield and UEFA Super Cup.

Close comparison, Gerrard had some better years, but Xavi was better for sure ...

I thinks its better to compare Gerrard with Lampard and Scholes, I think Lampard > Scholes > Gerrard
