Another magical European night at Anfield.

The sooner we are knocked out of the CL the better.

Same for the League Cup/Carling Cup/Chevrolet Cup.

I just hope that we don't spend too much energy trying to make something happen in the CL. We don't need it.... it is a waste of our time. I just follow the League games, the CL means nothing to me.

Adding a lot of depth was the right decision. I'm not going to comment on Lallana's price. If Balotelli could somehow get his act together and finally start producing, then he'd be considered as a bargain. I think too much weight is on his shoulders and his mind seems to be somewhere else. The talent is there, but what can you do if his head is somewhere else.

But i think the main issues here are that Gerrard is not getting any younger, Sturridge being injured, and you cannot replace a player like Suarez who can win games on his own. With whom? Falcao? Cavani? Nah. Amazing players but not as good. I believe Cavani to Pool and Suarez to PSG was almost on during the summer, but the Uruguyan wanted Barca.

I have no idea about their league chances this season, if we get our act together i think we'll have a better chance finishing top4 than Liverpool. Who knows?

About the CL thing, it brings in pretty good money, so the further you get the better. I honestly think they are not going to finish in the CL spots this year, which means that every penny they earn will be useful.

The counter-argument would be newbie's idea, which i'm not going to argue against either. Get your players performing and try to finish in that top4 spot without pointless distractions like Carling Cup. To be honest i've never held FA Cup in high regard either. Especially with that ancient "if you draw the match there'll be a replay system." Or is it called Chevrolet Cup this year? I couldn't care less to be honest.

Fuck i don't know how to quote people while posting a quick reply, but Newbie CL means nothing to you? I'd rather take the CL than finishing 1st in the EPL, but that's just me. Seems like the most prestigious club tournament, fuck seems? It is. Just look at the god damn atmosphere during the latter stages of the tournament in the stadiums. That alone tells you a lot, plus the money it brings in for clubs etc etc. I believe i don't need to say all that since it's so fucking obvious. I most likely forgot to add something important which was on my mind but forgot it.

Well, it totally depends, oh his day he can be a world beater even as a lone striker, but on his off day he's as useful as Andy Carroll. Which seems to be the case most of the time.

But yeah, that's why they need Sturridge back so much, then they need to gel, i sense no good coming out of this for some reason, though.

I've seen Rodgers altering their formation a lot of times. That diamond he played last year just doesn't work without their main striker being injured and one of the best in the world shipped off. Gerrard is in decline as well, he's still good, but good enough to play as a holding midfielder throughout most of the season? You don't drop that guy, but where's Lucas? The guy seems to appear once or twice every once in a while, and then disappears again.

At least Balotelli has managed to keep his act together outside the pitch. And what on earth happened during the Madrid game? He wasn't bad, swapped shirts at half time with Pepe, and then Rodgers swapped him out and played with small Sterling against Pepe & Varane as a lone forward? What?

Are those who supported Rogers' transfer business still backing him? The 100+ million pounds + were supposedly "smartly" spent because they "need backup players because they are in the Champions League"

That's $100 millions thrown right in the garbage. 4 or 5 great players would have been better than the 10 shit to average players that were brought in.

It really is a terrible result. I don't think the transfer business itself was wrong, but neither the team or the managers are delivering and they'll have to shape up or all those new players will weight the team down when they're out of Europe.

I still don't think Liverpool could have gotten much better players, though, even if they tried.

I know it is difficult to get great players at a reasonable price nowadays but Liverpool definitely overpaid on some of the players. For example they bought Lallana for roughly the same price as a worldclass player like Alexis Sanchez.

Oh and tits.

They could have gotten Fabregas and Sanchez for a similar price as Markovic and Lallana.

They would have been unrealistic targets and never would have joined Liverpool.

Agree with you that they wasted all that money on garbage, however.

And if they were determined on adding depth there were plenty of better players way cheaper-even if not world beaters- than what they spent.

Sanchez would have joined Liverpool IMO and would have made a big impact. I agree with Fabregas though, he wouldn't have joined Liverpool.

Liverpool had a great season and played good football. I don't see why great players wouldn't have wanted to join them. They ended up 2nd and were in the UCL.

We've been already through this! Alexis didn't want to live in Liverpool, so it was out of the question.

Because it was their first season in the CL in years and City, Chelsea and Arsenal have established themselves there.
