It wasnt only England fans booing your team at the WC buddy BUT lets not get off track. You're running on pure emotion, pure hatred of Manchester United, so what argument is there to have?? Giggs, according to the letter of the law CAN TAKE THE FREEKICK QUICKLY IF THE REFEREE SAYS HE CAN. CASED CLOSED. The Odemwingie goal is rightly disallowed because YOU CAN NOT SHOVE SOMEONE OUT OF THE WAY TO GET TO THE BALL. CASE CLOSED. THERE IS NO ARGUMENT, GET IT THROUGH YOU THICK SKULL.

You need to calm down , you get into a hulk like rage everytime anyone dares to question the actions of a Man Utd player.

I don't have a problem with the free kick , we've conceded those in the past and not complained ,Lille should get over it. I think the Odemwingie Goal should have stood , It looked like Vidic was pushed in the arm, which unless Odemwingie has superhuman strength shouldn't make Vidic go into a full length dive.

Rules question.

With regards to people standing in front of the ball in front of free kicks, if the ball is kicked into them, is it not a yellow card for deliberately obstructing play or something?

A yellow card will be issued if a player deliberately stands infront of the ball after the Ref has blown for the kick to be taken.

Lille's goal should have stood but the Giggs free kick was fine , Henry is the king of the quick free kick and when someone scores one you always get the same reaction from players and managers saying how its so unfair.

Boo hoo.

Yeh if the player had stood in front of Giggs which if he was smart he would have done he would have got a yellow card for stopping the freekick. But thats the risk you have to take. And teams will learn from that. Thats why players always stop quick freekicks because things like this happens. English fans dont like it but i would do it to. The Lille players didnt do it and paid the price.

Regardless of what happened on the pitch Lille should be kicked out of the competition for even contemplating walking off.

Someone earlier had complained about tickets, and having 2 per seat, well UEFA is the one that prints the tickets and team sells. The reason there were 2 per seat was some ManU fans illegal bought tickets on the blackmarket for the home fans area, and the police wouldn't allow that and just put them in the same area of the stadium.

The same thing happen last year in Portugal in the game between Benfica vs Porto, the Porto fans bought tickets else where and i think they were force to 3 per seat LOL.

Coherence check, I had exactly the same opinion about Henry's goal.

Some of you United fans obviously didn't.

sh*t the search button is a god.

I've gone through the thread and not seen any United fans moaning about the goal...

I see:

-Untouchable: "2-1!!!!!!!!"

-shoks with posts about commentary

-Pede bitching about the goal from via his laptop in the West Stand

-shokz: "2-2 (H)"

-untouchable: "2-2 hahaha"

-Help?: "Poll probably made up for his mistake that led to Arsenal fk goal." (notice the words "that led to", not "on"; he is talking about the Pires dive/no dive that led to the goal)

-shoks: "City lost
Dippers(Liverpool) lost
ONREEEEEEEE bottled it
Arsenal/Chelsea draw
My weekend is complete."

-Help?: "even better for manchester united"

-b-ytter: "Good match, good result!Eidur shoud not have moved on the fk situation,he heard poll give the green light and then he moved back,he shoud have stayed in front of the ball blocking it!!"

-b-ytter: "U dont have to be a retard to have the same upinion as the ref, then there is a lot of retards here in the forums, including me!" (regarding a penalty not given)

-Stotty: "ah quit yer whining, whats done is done, and you both dropped two points(H) "

-ngyc: "i heard gudjohnson goal was a fluke?"

-shokz: "http://news.bbc.co.uk/sportacademy/hi/sa/football/features/newsid_3409000/3409567.stm"

-shokz: "Was a minute silence from Martin Tyler after that miss from ONREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE(©Tyler/bSKYb)."

-Virgo: "The thing is that it is a stupid exploit of a flaw in the game's rules. It may be legit but it's dirty as hell, especially as it is supposed to be a FAST FREEKICK and it was taken more than 30 sec after the foul was awarded.
I'd feel ashamed to win a game with a freekick like that as much as winning a game with a dive from a PK.

You really should get some Prozac Eng4worldcup, it would do ye good. When you cool down you might want to rewatch the game and realise that apart from the first 10 minutes and the last 15, Chelsea dominated the game."

-Stotty: "exactly, we've seen it time and time again, if the FA felt there was something wrong with it, they'd have done something about it."

-b-ytter: "If only Eidur have blocked the fk and Gallas have put his head down on the header from Terry,Chelsea would have kicked ARSE!
Then again the result is the best for us!"

-shokz: "I'm surprised no one is discussing the dive by Pires which won the freekick in the first place." (THIS is what Help? was talking about in the bolded post)

-shokz: "If he is a hypocrit then what does that make the thousands of Arsenal supporters singing "Same old Chelsea always cheating" and "Cheat, Cheat, Cheat" today."

-Stotty: "no i know mate, however they can influence on what the referees should stamp down on We've seen it time and time again in the premiership, dont no about abroad." (defending Poll's decision)

-b-ytter: "Well it semse like Pires always dive and always get freekick from diving,it is crap watching him dive, and look at the ref thinking Yees!! i did it again!"

Those are all of the Manchester United supporter's posts starting at the time when Henry's free kick went in. You'll notice that the people who are upset about the goal are Chelsea fans, and you, Virgo. I'm pretty sure everyone else realizes that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the goal.

So what was your point?

wow way to twist what he said to fit your argument needs (Y)

Of course he was talking about the free kick.

I didn't see anyone utterly pissed about what I said then as I'm seeing now. Touching a nerve this time?

The important part is that I stood by my opinion and am not in some anti-United crusade as biased twats like Untouchable suggested. In fact I've been reading United boards and a fair share of United supporters are honest enough to recognize and share my opinion about those 2 players.

Way to be an idiot. (Y) How is that possibly twisting what he said? Just because you are too daft to put his post into context doesn't mean that everyone else is.

Considering that Poll made no mistake on the awarding of Henry's goal, Help's post wouldn't even make sense. For validation (see, I actually read the thread, rather than just posting a link and assuming it was proof), here is one of shokz's posts once more for you.

shokz said:

Now I know it might be a little too much to ask, but try to put some common sense into play here. If Pires dives and the referee awards a free kick, and Henry scores a perfectly legal goal from it, and the referee awards a goal, what mistake do you think Help was talking about? The mistake that existed, or the one that didn't? Yeah, I'd have to go with "the mistake that existed", and hopefully you've answered the same. The only mistake Poll made was calling a foul in the first place.

Am I still twisting words around to fit my argument?

edit: I realize, and am not arguing the fact that you have the same opinion on the rule as you did back then. What I am arguing is your post about United fans changing their stance about the quick free kick, when I've clearly given evidence that in the Arsenal/Chelsea thread, there was not a single United fan complaining about Henry's goal.
