I hope he gets it right...like someone who scores 9/10 goals in his pro career and is a striker...very bad.

You're joking, right? The best manager in portuguese football?!?!?!? It's just that it seems so obvious to me that most of Freitas signings are ridiculous and he always has personal interests involved in those players. And it's not just me who realizes this, but several sportinguistas too. But ok, to each his own.

Contrarily to what most Benfiquistas are saying, I'm not that confident (but you all know I'm a bit of a pessimist) and I'm sure it will be a very hard game.

I don't like that whole overconfidence. Being in a better form and having a better squad means 0 when it comes to derbies. Besides, usually the team that is worse wins. I also remember the cup game and the decisive one for the championship last year, Sporting was playing very well and we weren't. Their fans and players were extremely confident of the win, they thought it couldn't escape them and as we all know, we ended up winning both. I'm seeing exactly the opposite pattern here, but I hope we don't repeat it and manage to win. We can certainly do it if we play fuly concentrated and giving 100%, but a derby is always a 50/50 game.

I'm glad Benfica bought Laurent, he's the worst January signing they did, IMO, he's just a troublemaker, and if you don't remember, he was a sub at Portsmouth, the same way Koke was a sub at Marseille.

Not quite. Robert was a starter with Portsmouth's previous coach. Only a while ago, this new coach didn't like him, so he wasn't playing much. Also, I bet none of us heard of this Koke before. Said that, I think he's gonna be another Pinilla, but I give the benefit of the doubt as I never saw him playing, who knows, he may turn out a decent player.


About the game itself, we can win but the players must really work hard, because Sporting needs to win badly, if not can almost say goodbye to the title. Hope it's a good match, Benfica-Sporting matches were the most entertaining of the league last season, the one for the cup was one of the most spectacular and best played matches in our country so looking forward to it. :)

Yeah, it was one of the most spectacular and best played matches in our country. But when we come to talk about the referee in that match...everyone say: "Mas foi o melhor não foi?" That game was a "roubo de igreja"...and don't come tell me it wasn't...the critics were unanimous...if it was against Benfica there would go the "jarras" in action. Damn, I cried after that game, for the ref and for M.Garcia...

I just hope tomorrow it is a good match, with a good refereeing (something that wasn't been good in the last games of Liga Betadine...) and that Sporting wins...difficult, but not impossible.

The only thing I want tonight is three points, and I feel that we will have no problems in winning our tenth consecutive match. I predict a 3:0 Benfica win, with at least one frango, and maybe two if we're lucky.
