Well it was a bad movie let's be honest. No real story in it, the guy... uhm Jeremy Renner? Looked like a clown in it which made it worse even. I mean the best movie last year was Dallas Buyers Club, thoughts?

Doesn't everyone think they have good taste in movies?
That's a very good statement to make, gotta agree with you. But I know for a fact that I have a verrrry good taste in movies, and music just to add to that you know.

Far, far from it - an overinflated run-of-the-mill biopic which had a cheap social conscience and a chance for actors to put in 'great' performances easily by losing weight or going in drag, removing any need for nuance.

Well your thought is as good as mine. I loved that movie, as you did with that Renner one. People's tastes are different and that's what makes people unique.

Dallas Buyer's Club was very disappointing. Midway through it dawned on me that perhaps I was watching it wrong. Perhaps it wasn't a good movie, per se, but a movie featuring good performances. I don't think either guy really wowed me or did anything magnificent so I have no idea where the hype has come from. Actually scratch that, it came from it being a biopic about a white trash homophobe learning to love a drag queen with a special guest appearance from AIDS. I think Trainspotting and Philadelphia were more entertaining and featured better performances respectively, while shooting for the same goal.

I agree that Casey Affleck is better. I quite like The Assassination of Jesse James, which featured my favorite actor, Sam Rockwell. If you haven't seen Moon or 7 Psychopaths you should (latter is more pure entertainment).

Xaviesta and chygry, what are your favorite movies?

Hey don't you drag Xaviesta into this! You and I share a same favourite actor it seems. I cannot name my favourite movie, because I've seen so many, but If I were to name a few then pfff... Depending on my mood right now. Apocalypse Now, Goodfellas and the list goes on and on. They're fucking classics that's for sure, but I wasn't trying to come up with some original answer. There are many more of course.

What are yours Azreal?

Better put the bottle down you. Those two movies are classics, but if I were to name a few others then pfff... 25th Hour (PSH was quality), A Love Song for Bobby Long, Crazy Heart for example... There were couple of others on my mind but i'm so out of it right now.

So now it's 14? I think that's being called moving up the ladder. Monster's Ball was another movie I wanted to say, but couldn't remember it when I posted the last time, you know.

YELLOW CARD: Untrustworthy
Chygry, I watched Fast and Furious 7 and I enjoyed it as well. The thing with such movies is that you watch them to see fast cars and things blow up, not for the story. That's why I went to see it, and even though there are some ridiculous scenarios, I still enjoyed it. Now I would never place it in the "Greatest movies" list, they do help kill and past the time.
