Yesterday's night I watched Platoon. "Platoon" is probably one of few films, in which offences of drama of Vietnamese war has been showed in such depth. I recommend this film everyone. It has to be watched

I think i was put off watching Apocolypto from the first time i saw the trailer. It's never going to be a good film when you need the director to EXPLAIN the plot in the actual teaser. Not good, not good at all.

Earlier today I watched Where the Sidewalk Ends on DVD, a classic film noir from Otto Preminger, one of my fav directors. It was a great movie, fulfilling all the traditional aspects of the genre to perfection as well as reinventing it with a unique anti-hero and overall theme. The only disappointment was Gene Tierney's bland performance in the female lead, kind of ruined the movie a little, especially at the end. Still a classic, though, almost scaling the dizzy heights of his masterwork, Laura.

National Lampoon's Blackball. Found it in the bargain $5 bin at Wal-Mart and bought it because it had Vince Vaughn in it. Nothing amazing, but it had some good and funny parts.

The last movies I've seen lately:

The Pursuit of Happiness (just a really well done movie from top to bottom, Will Smith was great , 8/10)

Night At The Museum (a fun family movie, I was actually surprised at how ejoyable this movie was, I didn't go in expecting much and now I'm telling everyone to go see it 7/10)

Charlotte's Web (very good children's movie and the voice acting was some of the best ever 8/10)

Kill Bill vol. 1 & 2 (yes on TBS, it was stripped so badly in so many ways that there really is no point in showing the movie at all, I'm actually thinking about getting the DVDs now so I can watch the movies like they were meant to be watched, I had seen them both before but after seeing them all bothced down I feel like I have to see them again)

Apocalipto, i liked the way they had choosen the characters, they really seemed to be prehistorical Mayas

The Curse Of The Golden Flower. Boy what a nice surprise. The movie is in chinesse but the action and the plot make this movie a nice find. They had some kick@ss ninjas as well

That's exactly what I thought So I've bought the DVDs and now I've ordered the Japanese version of the first part, it is free of any censorship so it's a minute longer And the scene of the Bride fighting Crazy 88's is not black-and-whited.
