first off, EA's ratings are known to be crap, so that holds no substance whatsoever.

secondly, Donovan is the poster-boy of US soccer, so his cover appearance is warranted.

thirdly, you can debate his ability level all day, but all i know was he signed to German pwerhouse at 17, scored 2 World Cup goals, has won an MLS Championship and the Golden Boot award at the U-17 World Championships and he's only 20. and as it stands, Leverkusen wants him back. They're unwilling to give him up because they are able to make at least a transfer worth $10 million for him to another club (money the MLS doesn't have) or use him to jump-start their lackluster offense.

You'll know Donovan's name quite well before the US's inevitable appearance at the 2006 World Cup.

Leverkusen was only the runner up in the champion's league and in the deutsche bundesliga last season. How many swedish teams play in the champion's league?

Hmmm why the fúck do you mention the swedish teams in this discussion!? I have not said anything about Leverkusen or the swedish teams! And btw, Sweden only have 1 place in the Champions League and they have to qualify for it. How easy do u think it is to play against Bayern Munich and teams like that in the qualifying round!?

america won 2 games in the world cup .they were very lucky to reach the qf and when they met an average team they were beaten.

not 1 american player has ever made it big in europe

if the best american team had to play the likes of a team currently still in the uefa cup ...the uefa cup side would probably beat the american team by a couple of goals(no telling what would happen if they had to play milan ,man utd or madrid)

american players are obviously overated ..how can u even put donovan and vieira's name in the same sentence ?

the only reason donovan was on the cover is bcos it was the american version ...most american dont know who the **** giggs,rc or davids are .

C mon guys I'm an Australian and well I think EA shoud have put Davids Giggs(LEGEND) and Carlos on USA's cover. Why? well Australia (besides Viduka and Kewell)suck as well but we all follow European Footbal (We have Aussie Rules footy which I love)
and know all the players and I'm sure USA does as well. You only have to put the Countries player on thier cover when they have no idea of Europe, like Korea or Japan.
