guys although its great to have buffon back we must not forget how much of a life saver abbiati has been. in the league when juve have played with him 4 goals have only been conceded. without him 3 more have been conceded and that was in one game.
alright in the ucl he had a couple of bad matches but he has still been great.
to the person who said no more abiatti in the national team. how would u like it if chimenti was chosen to reprsnet italy? im sure uu would be saying "thank god for abbiati."

you got that right mark. i mean the guy has fallen in love with juve. last month he told the media "it is so difficult to leave a club like juve." he doesnt want to leave even though he knows his contract with juve is short term. after all it is a loan.

no im not i was just trying to defend abbiati by asking which keeper would u prefer? i think ppl havent given him as much credit as he deserves. i hope he goes to a club where he can be the permanent first keeper. he is too good for the bench.

Abbiati is better than Chimenti but thats about it... He wasn't phenomenal by any means for Juve. He was decent and wasn't made to work too hard with the impenetrable defense in front of him.
He made a couple of important saves but not without a couple of absolute howlers as well. He got the credit he deserved and then some by getting the NT call up.
Still though, Buffon's absence didn't dent Juve's chances in any of the competitions and Abbiati now hands over the reigns back to Buffon with Juve thriving in both the league and the CL.
Just 7 goals conceded (3 of them being in one game Abbiati didn't play in) in the Serie A compared to 11 for Inter, 13 for Milan. So Buffon doesn't have to be pressured into being his usual superman self right from the get go. He is bound to be a little rusty which no amount of practice can shake off. Only real games can get him back to a 100%.
This Fiorentina game in the Coppa Italia is a good game to start off with. Its a challenge against a good team even if they rest a few regulars and at the same time the fear of losing isn't as great as it would be in the league or the CL.
Having said that, what seemed like such a disaster right at the start of the season didn't actually have the impact we thought it would. A job well done to Christian. I have a feeling his loan move might become permanent with Zebina going to Milan. I wouldn't be opposed to that.

Wow, can't believe we got set for our weakest spot next season, no we need some future buys like a left midfielder (uhm when Nedved will retire, I guess Mutu will take his place but if he won't be at Juve anymore we still got Chiellini so we need a starter or a good sub, or neither, depends on the situation), and one or two centre-backs, because Thuram's contract finishes in 2007 but Cannavaro isn't getting any younger (when does his contract expire anyway?).
