January Transfer Window Rumour Thread

Borgetti wants out of Bolton.

I bet Mexican clubs will be lining up to grab him.

He has been complaining about playing time since day one, Big Sam blasted him for his lack of team play (Sam's Borg Warning), the Mexico national coach wants him to play club football regularly in prep for the WC, and he wants out. I say let him go!

Anyone one know if Levante will let Ian Harte leave? I know they turned down Celtic, but Celtic was trying to grab him on a free transfer. I think if someone brings some $$ to the table, they might be willing to part with him. He is just rotting away in the Segunda!

Borgetti is a quality player, but he has to remember that he's 32. He's in no position to be complaining about playing time when a guy like Robert Pires (roughly his age) is begging for a new deal even if it means playing an as impact sub.

Senior Squad
Borguetti is the Mexican NT's star forward.
He wants playing time, he really needs it, or he'll loose that position very soon.

Chivas was interested in him, but Bolton didn't want to deal, so they went after Nery.
Club America are the only ones that could buy him right now, I think most of the big teams (money-wise) are already set for this year's championship.
Unless Borg wants in on a smaller club, I don't see him coming back.

One of Jorge Vergara's bother (Chivas owner) was supposed of held talks with Bolton last Monday...never heard anything from that rumor after all. Borgetti is rumored basically to every team in Mexico, but doesn't dicard a possible move to a smaller club in Europe (Spain preferably).

I'd rather see him stay in a smaller club in Europe. I couldn't bear to watch him in a Chivas jersey...just look at all the players they've signed within the last 2 weeks:

RWB - Diego Martinez (one of Lavolpe's possible starters)
LB - Gonzalo Pineda (the same, did start in Copa Confederaciones)
ST - Sergio Santana (at some point played for Mexico's NT, but sucked)
ST - Nery Castillo (finally decided to keep only 1 nationality, has NT talent)

+ O. Sanchez, C. Salcido, O. Bravo, A. Medina, 'Bofo' Bautista, Ramon Morales, and throw in there 'maza' Rodriguez.

They better win every tournament with that squad...

What about Pumas?
They wouldn't be able to pay for the transfer fee, money's pretty thin with them. Pachuca might be one of the few teams that could afford to bring him back but as Shiryu said, all the teams are just about set with the championship kicking off in a little bit. The only way he'd get some playing time is if he gets loaned out somewhere.

haha, yeah, we've got about 7 to 9 NT players so we'll be pretty screwed towards the end of the championship since those guys will be in camp getting ready for the World Cup.

About Cruz Azul, they've got the money to bring Borgetti back but the thing is that they don't really need him since they just bought 2 new strikers.

Henry has put an end to all rumours today by confirming he'll definitely stay with Arsenal next season.
