Thornton, Meola, Keller, Friedel...any American keeper is solid.

The problem lies up front: US needs players like Wynalda who have the international experience to shoot under pressure. McBride is alright, but is usually only strong in the air.

The Germans always win???? Whose kits were they wearing in France because I swore it looked like Brazil and France in the final. Perhaps you meant Pasadena in '94. Oh wait, those two teams looked like Italy and Brazil.

As far as Italy and U.S. It was a Friendly, right? The U.S. does real well in Friendlies, let me know when they start turning heads in matches that mean something.

Weak.

Only Brazil has won more than Germany in terms of World Cup history. Apart from that, Germany made the Quarterfinals both in '94 and '98. They won Euro 96. They've won 3 World Cups. They've made every World Cup except once, and that was the time they didn't even enter.

Oh, England 5, Germany 1? Look at more recent results...Germany 4:1 Ukraine...Germany 7:1 Israel...

Regis was solid all game and was clearly fouled on the play. Yes, he did take a bit of a dive, but he was still on top of his game. Armas played a superb game on defense. Up front, we need Mathis. That is all that can be said. He and Wolff work well together because Mathis is a great creator and has good skill while Wolff has blazing speed and can finish. I think the midfield is where the US needs the most work. Also, what happened to Eddie Pope? Why was he not in uniform for the game?
