Moratti regards Álvarez as the new Álvaro [Recoba], which is high praise ... let's see if Gasperini will keep him, or if he gets loaned out to Palermo (for a season) as part of the supposed Pastore deal ...

Wasn't Recoba always injured or out on loan? I mean, 175 apps in 12 years doesn't exactly say club legend at least to me.

yeah, Recoba's talent and potential (dribbling, vision, freekicks, long-range shooting, etc.) was always regarded higher than his actual career ... he never showed the mental fortitude expected of him ... clearly the big move to Inter overawed him initially, and he got loaned out for a short spell, which then kickstarted things for him back at Inter ...

Inter got to see bursts of his ability, sometimes at clutch moments ... his enormous potential is why he's considered such a wasted talent, but he is still thought of fondly ... Adriano's story isn't dissimilar either ...

anyway, you can see why Álvarez reminds Moratti of Álvaro: the same quick-dribbling, lethal South American left foot of a support-forward ... clearly the old ghoul feels that this new kid represents something of a mulligan ...

negotiating for €40m? should be for £40m! no, f*ck it, £50m! just coz it's Man Yoo ...

even though Wes will be sullied by becoming one of Srallex's players, they would have at least been made to pay through the nose for him, and be further mired in debt ...

Inter became very quite in transfer market after that treble, very uncharacteristic. Maybe Morrati achieved all of his dreams and he cares more about his financial benefits right now.

since Jan 2011, it's only been Ranocchia, Pazzini, Nagatomo (loan, made permanent), Kharja (loan, returned), Castaignos, Ricky Álvarez. Cícero Jonathan, and Viviano (to be used to get Palacio, maybe) in, with continued interest for Pastore, Tévez, etc. ...

yeah, Inter are so "quite" in the market :biggrinx: ...

yeah but you can not see big names like Ronaldo, Vieri, Eto'o or Ibra. Those players are good but not ace.

so the Italian press have spun a chance meeting between Branca and Carlitos (in Sardegna) into a full-blown transfer story:

whatever the case may be, I hope Moratti doesn't get ideas about sacrificing Wes or Samu for El Apache the Ogre; it'd herald an ugly chapter for the club ...

No-one can afford a crazy huge transfer anymore, only City, Madrid and Chelsea.

AND Barcelona (Ibrahimovic 40 millions + Etoo, Sanchez up to 37 millions - backup player) etc.

I was just checking thiago motta profile. How he played for both Brazil and Italy national team. According to Fifa rules, if you play for any national team, you cannot play for another team.

Arteta could not play for England because he played for Spanish youth teams!!!!!

Philippe Coutinho can be a next big thing at Inter. He looks promising in U20 World Cup.

Eto'o: I didn't join Anzhi for the money

Of course, it's all about a very interesting project, it really represents a challenge, and Eto'o as everyone-who-can't-say-they-go-somewhere-for-money loves challenges and bla bla bla...

3TO'O #99. Sad to see him like that :(

so, Cachavacha to replace Samu ...

['98-'11]
Ronaldo/Zamorano
Ronaldo/Bobo
Bobo/Crespo
Adriano
Zlatan
Milito
Eto'o

would be harsh to include Forlán on the "Julio Cruz" list instead, but he'll have to get back to his 2010 form if he has to be a big player for Inter ... don't know if I see that happening ...

Julio Cruz was a good player for Inter. And he came from Bologna, wasn't a famous player with high expectations anyway.

Did Gasperini just put one of the elite players of the world Wesley Sneijder on the bench in favor of his little 3-4-3 tactic...? I've heard Gasperini say before he sees Sneijder as an attacker, but to actually see him leave Sneijder out... Unbelievable! Has he not seen him play for Holland lately?! This is a sin against football! Good luck with that. (but not really. (H))
