If it came down to sacrificing a player to send back to Chelsea as a makeweight for Veron (do you even want to keep him
) who would you be willing to part with? Im not trying to ruffle feathers, but I was thinking either Van der Meyde, Emre or Karagounis plus like a few million euros. Are these guys youd be willing to lose to us? Im particularly keen on the greek, as i love the quiet, hard working guys on the pitch, and he strikes me as oneForzaNerrazurri

Don't know what he's worth but I wouldn't mind getting rid of Kily,
Emre really hasn't found a spot with Mancini as coach, so he would probably be another one to go..
I like Veron personally.. He has really shown he wants to play for Inter, and has done very well lately.

Ahh, thanks FN for responding to me here and in the Inter v Porto thread. I just figured you all had a glut of mids or wingers, and now knowing that Veron is a regular in that mix (hope hes recovering his class well) hopefully the two teams can get something worked out. But if we do get a makeweight, just dont give us too much of a deadbeat

Well even if you got just Emre out of the deal, you would find he is a perfect person to make a switch to the EPL. He is small, strong, and VERY quick. He has a lot of pace which is needed in the EPL, and he has a quick release on his shooting, and can play in different Midfield positions

Well, that surprises me. I didnt know he had those types of qualities that are well suited to england, though, i suppose, playing in italy had that physical element. If we get anyone in the deal, heres hoping its him, as, and you can correct me if this is a wrong assumption, but he seems like the type of young, hungry, work-rate player that is a managers dream: Inconsistency aside, many chelsea fans who once had this discussion felt that he was preferable to VdM because of the effort he more commonly displayed.

Well the reason for that is Emre had much more playing time than VDM. VDM has had some bad luck with injury, and Emre was usually a regular before Mancini came. Emre is 25 years old (1 year younger than VDM) So he still has some high quality football still to be played. I can't comment on VDM's play before he came to Inter because I'm not familiar with it, but I think once he gets into enough games I think he will do very good, and find himself a spot in the starting 11 (That's if Mancini wakes up)

This is sad, really sad, but if he's smart, he'll be true to his words and leave in the summer (if released or if he decides to terminate his contract) We have a midfield that's bloated like Elvis at the moment and with Mancini opting for two DMs and being very partial to his buddies from Lazio, I doubt Emre is going to see quality playing time this season. Davids, Kara, and Veron will hopefully beat it in the summer so more space can be opened up for him.

What a victory. The side played really well and beat Porto 3-1 and now we are through to the quarters. I wonder who we'll draw. To be honest I'd like it if we drew PSV or possibly Lyon.
Though wouldn't it be awesome to draw Milan or Juve and knock them the f*ck out? Definately
On the transfer scene, I'll be totally pissed of if Emre leaves but it seems that he will. But I'd rather send Davids to Chelsea then Emre in return for Veron.
Sure Veron is 29 or 30 but I think it would be best to stick with him for a few seasons before going out after someone else. One person who could possibly replace him if he does leave is Riquelme. D'Alessandro's name has also been mentioned.
Who I'd rather? I'm not really a fan of either player since both of them have their weaknesses.
BTW Materazzi finally pulled his head out of his ass and played fantastic. CZ (another played I'm not really fond of) is starting to really impress me after having another great game partnering Cambiasso in the middle fo the field. It seems that when they play together our side plays it's best.

well said, CZ and Cambiasso have a great partnership. I really like Veron, he's a great playmaker and passer. Materazzi should get hit in the head more often, maybe it did him some good
Most importantly Adriano, what a great time to get back into form. He could have had 5 or 6 goals if it weren't for Porto's high offside trap.

whats up with Inter fans wanting to draw Milan or Juve ? Wouldn't it be better to take care of the non Italian teams first and then scrap it out between us in the Semis ?
