I'm 13 years old and used to play for a local club. We were one of the best in the city until our coach left, and with her most of our good players. I was one of three who stayed with the new coach.
Last February we had our first game, in the morning. It was cold, and we didn't stretch out. We were doing a warmup excercise that involved passing, going to next station, passing, next station, then shooting.
When it was my turn to pass, I received the ball at an awkward angle but tried to hit it anyway. I felt my leg pop out of it's socket and heard a pop. Next thing I know I was limping off to the sidelines. One of the parents was a nurse, and she suspected I'd pulled a ligament.
I went home and it turned out I was out for the rest of the season. I spent that time stretching and working out, trying to get back in shape, but every time I tried to play, I would pull it.
Now, one year later, I still can't play due to pains whenever I kick or sprint.
Is this the end of my short-lived soccer career?
