Well according to this then FIFA is the better game hands down. FIFA more than outsells PES/WE every year. So to what you said, the masses show, FIFA is the better game. Watch what you say before posting. Im not tying to be an a$$ or anything but you set yourself up for that response.

What exactly has selling more got to do with the being better? Lots of people buy McDonalds but it doesn't mean they are the best burgers. Songs get to number one that are crap whilst better ones struggle to make a mark. It's called advertising and marketing.

FIFA may outsell PES each year... so who buys it exactly? first time buyers; people who are sucked in my the double page Ads in the national papers; People who like the box arwork; people who have been bought it for Christmas presents; people who thought the TV clips looked good, people who think official licences are important etc... but mainly people who haven't tried PES or researched the reviews. Sorry, but buying ignorantly is not counted as any kind of indication as to which is the better game.

As you know, I was talking about the opinion of the "people who convert from one game to the other." They are the only opinions that count.... and people convert from Fifa to PES NOT the other way round. . That is the only 'fact' that really proves anything.

And because of that 'fact' I will happily repeat : PES4 is the best football game at the moment. End of Story.

My final verdict:

Both are not perfect, both have good and bad points, but as a gaming and football experience PES is still number one. Anybody who loves football and seriously plays both games will inevitably come to the same conclusion. That is why all the reviews also came to that very same conclusion (not because they are bias! Lol! They just know a great game from a good game)

If I shagged 100 girls, and then you shagged 100 girls and then 95 of those girls said that I was best, then I am. It's quite simple really isn't it? (you're going to try to tell me the girls were bias right? lol!)

Very bad example. With all the fast food places on earth I doubt people buy McDonalds because they dont know Wendy's or Burger King may be better. You should really think that one over. Since you are using this as an example of why PES is better. A crap pop song that gets number one is because of biased reviews. End of story. Hmm reviews. Like PES reviews could be. This does not mean that the song is the number 1 seller. Bad example.

You need to make research before making assumptions. I did not buy FIFA 05 because of any of the things mentioned. I reasearch reviews all the time. I don't just ignorantly read the overall scores like you must do. After sitting down and reading a review, ignoring the score, of FIFA 05 and WE8I, you can judge that they are not that far apart. To further that, reading the full review gives you a picture of what the game is like instead of just reading the score. Like I have said before, If we all bought games based on the score, we would all play nothing but Halo 2 and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. So it seems that the ones buying ignorantly because of review scores would be the PES/WE fans. Would you buy PES if say IGN or gamespot game it a 5 out of 10?

This does not prove a single thing. This "fact" is all in the eye of the beholder. To some people, they change for a change. They say FIFA is the same stuff every year, beside little tweaks. FALSE, FLASE, FALSE. Once again stop with the assumptions. Anybody who loves Football and seriously plays both games will not choose PES/WE over FIFA. Just because you and some others did, does not mean you can assume that "anybody" would change. I play both games very seriously. I have all the FIFA games, all the way back to FIFA International Soccer on my SNES. I also have PES all the way back to PES 2. I even import the PES games before they come here, know as World Soccer Winning Eleven. I already had PES4 on both my PC and PS2 and just got my copy of Winning Eleven 8 last week. I still would rather play FIFA and so would others that are here. On the flipside there are some who play and buy both that would take PES over FIFA and that is fine. Last year I chose PES 3 over FIFA 04. This year I chose FIFA 05 over PES 4. Simple as that. Next year is undetermined. Neither games are there. We will see which I like better next year. Who knows maybe PES will kick the crap out of FIFA 06 and maybe FIFA 06 will kick the crap out of PES5.

That comment was arrogant. How do you know EA will never come up with anything close? You dont but i guess seeing as how you are a PES fan, then you must be arrogant also. Might I add that it is complete ignorance to only read the game review score and not the review itself. Plenty of crap games, songs, movies, and hell even cars get high review scores. Then they proceed to flop and they lose money over them. Having a higher rating does not mean that people will like it better, or that it is even better for that matter. Let me ask you guys one simple question. Don't you love it when a critic will give a movie 5 stars and 2 weeks later the news is talking about how the movie was crap and bombed. What makes you think that video game reviews are any different from a movie review? If you think they are different then you are ignorant. Plain and simple.

I never said PES is crap. It might be great . The animations are just so sloppy that to me it becomes not the best game. In this day and age, to give a real effect the animations need to look real. Which they do not in PES. It may have all the great gameplay things like realistic corners and freekicks. Without proper animations all the good of PES is hindered severly to a person looking for total realism. FIFA has the problem of the corners and freekicks which suck. Other than that thou FIFA gives a more realistic approach. PES only gives some extra freedom. It is not that great though. Your A.I. teammates do not really make runs on their own like people say. The only thing better in PES is the fluid flowing gameplay. To me, my opinion, my preference, my choice is FIFA over PES by a hair. I never said it was some super game compared to PES.
The only difference between these two games is user preference.
Dont take this post to heart. We are all footie brothers and some sisters. No matter which game we like better.

I recently got W11-8 (I have FIFA 2005 also). And all I can say is that if you don't play W-11 for a while, and actually learn the game you won't give it a chance. At first, I could not get use to W11's controls or gameplay. FIFA is much easier to pick up and play (that is not necessarily good though). The graphics for the IN-game play are better in FIFA. Atleast in the XBOX.
Still, I'm glad I bought W11.

Yes the cpu AI is more clinical in front of goal, but it,s not too hard to close them down or force them out wide and limit them to long range shots.
Same when i play against friends... They are all over me to start with, doing fancy turns n tricks while i,m getting used to the controls.
But after a few games i can hold them to draws and even beat them at times.
PES is a good game, but i just don,t follow the trend of hype, over it...

Relax guys! No matter reviews its a matter of personal opinion .I prefer PES cos i feel gameplay is the most important aspect. Fifa fans prefer fifa cos it has reasonable gameplay and great graphics/ licences/atmospheres etc. But they feel PES is unbalanced due to extraordinary gameplay but mediocre graphics/ licences/atmospheres. As for me the gameplay is enough to prove the diff.

anyways most of as where fifa fans, as fifa was known moore in the world, (at list in my country) because they had the licenes, and real players names wich no football game had that, but one day some of as realised that fifa was takeing a pis year after year, working on graphic and clubs licenses, and they forgot about the gameplay. then we tryed pes and it was moore adictive game then fifa, every fifa game was excited at the biganing but in two weeks u start to get bored with it, but the differec with pes is that u can keep playing for the rest of the year (moore u play it moore u liked it) untill the next one comes out. but if u don't play the game alot yourself, u will never understand why we like this game. and that dosn't make me pesfan if i was fifafan before, i just like to play the best football, and pes4 is better then any foty at the momment, but as bayern.. sad bifore, if fifa 2006 will be better then pes5 next year, i will go for it, but i found it hard to trust fifa agen, if they immprove i will be moore then happy

Right, EA can't be trusted on gameplay, you can 100% trust them for putting news songs and license in the game, but the gameplay will not likely to be changed in a better way because in the last four years, EA has been hiring bunches of people who have really poor knowledge about soccer to make FIFA game series, and i think they're gonna do the same thing for 2006.

Dafttonesmx17. Thank you you have said it all. In your opinion Fifa is slightly better than PES. I am sure there are quite a few people who agree with you, but most people still think that PES is better. I am one of those people and my opinion seems to be consistent with the magazine reviewers.

I realise that doesn't make us right, it just indicates that we look for the same things in a football game and find more of it in PES rather than fifa.

You have said many things that made me laugh, such as "Girls are born biased. We are primitive beings, women are not." and "A crap pop song that gets number one is because of biased reviews" and best of all "What better change than just changing games?"
