How Bad Is Terje Hauge

I'm a better referee than Terje Hauge.

No, seriously, I am. I refereed 10 and 11 years olds for 4 years. It was some fast-paced, bumblebee soccer shiznit. C'mon, send me to Germany!

Plus, I can also deal with "adversity" from the sidelines. I've told more than a few rich, yuppie parents to shove it.

Okay, the pressure on being a ref in the CL final is maybe a BIT higher than refeering 11 year olds!

Also, last nights match was a very difficult match for the referee, he made a fault, yes, but that fault I would say had no inpact on the match. Yes, Arsenal got a man out, but if Lehmann not had been sent off, Barca would have scored a goal. Barca was the best team last night, and Terje Hauge, in my opinion is a great referee, and since he did not get picked out for the World Cup, he deserved to be a ref in the CL final:)

Sorry for doubleposting, but

The telling comment on Sky Sports last night was "The one man who needs to calm down is the referee."

He comes accross as one of these refs who think people watch him rather than the players and goes out of his way to send someone off.

Come on! Hauge is not a referee that just gives a red card for just the attention, he did what he thaught (comes from think:p) was right!

I reckon Hauge did pretty well at the Bridge...

But it's ok to criticise him for yesterday's game...
He wasn't at the expected standards... made some stupid judgement errors... he should've given the goal to Barca, and a yellow card for Lehmann... i must admit i was very angry at him, when he showed the red card....

But....... again: he did well at the Bridge!!!

No, he didn't. The red card speaks for it self, plus Barcelona should have had one or two penalties if I remember correctly. I don't remember the match entirely, but I remember him doing loads of things wrong.

ok... you win by your persistence...

anyway... a referee who is delegated to the UCL final, must have some credits of it's own... keep arguing about his performance in the Bridge game... i'm out of that useless arguing...

Of course he's being criticised....an English team lost....how dare he!!!

Piss off Dragan (H)

He did seem awfully selective about decisions last night. I don't know whether to say he was biased or just totally incompitant. If he had been pictured in a Barcelona shirt prior to the match, I would of well believed it!

He is indeed a bad referee. Although he was equally very fair / unfair to both sides. He could have allowed Guily's goal AND sent Lemon off. Eboue's dive was rewarded with a free kick, (instead of a booking for diving) that resulted in a goal. Eboue could have got a red himself for a studs high tackle across the thigh of a Barca player. There were plenty of tackles from behind from both sides that could have earned yellows. More dives from both sides that should have earned yellows. Ronaldinho falling backwards as if elbowed in the face should have earned him a red IMO. Henry was no angel himself either. There were a few dodgy challenges from him, the one that earned him a yellow was not the first bad tackle he had made. I think the ref did well to keep the bookings to a minimum. If he would have followed the letter of the law all night, instead of 11 V 10 it might have been 9 V 8. What is a ref to do when you have 2 teams playing such unsporting football. He was in a no win situation with the way these two teams set out their respective stalls. Yeah he is a crap ref but the teams on show contributed to the farce as much as he did.

He quoted to the BBC:

"We had full control of the match and all in all I'm quite happy with my performance.

That's a shocker of a thing to say. Could come up with something a little better than that. Referees don't control a game, if they are they're impacting the result I believe. That's just acting as a center of attention.

See I don't get that...... Arsenal were 15 minutes from winning the Champions League purely because of his ****ups (WAS a goal, and WASNT a freekick) :jambo: :jambo:
