Have EA learned anything?

Here are the features on the official 2005 site:

Now: 1.Is a new feature...nothing bad about that..
2. Gameplay depth using OTB? i think that FIFA`s problems are when you're ON THE BALL and defending... :/
3,4,5 have no effect on gameplay...

So...out of 5 features, only 2 are gameplay related, out of which one won't make much of a difference...
Now don't think i'm a FIFA basher...yes, it's true, i've been playing PES 3 for PC since it came out...BUT i've been playing FIFA since RTWC: 98...i want FIFA to become what it once was...but it seems that 2005 will not bring this about

i would agree, however just look at the first feature. I think that is VITAL.
I think that was what was missing from previous fifas. If done right it'll make the gameplay a whole lot better.
I think that when pes fans compare the game to fifa, this is the main thing they are comparing. First touch is what is great in pes.

However, if fifa really wants to make a great game they have to add more dribbling like pes. I dont just mean moves. In pes they have a longer dribble (longer than a sprint) and a normal dribble and a small controlled dribble. The players top speed is the same except that the player pushes the ball out further.Just things like that. And lots of detail will only improve the game.
About the broadcast feature, i think it will do great in the game. I saw a vid of it in action, and it looks awesome.

Perhaps the sprint button should be context sensitive? that means that if you press it in less you wont go as fast. Maybe same thing with the movement, w/ anologe stick?

Hmm looking at the screenshots, I notice one thing - There is way to much space. There is so to much one on one action happening and we all know, that unless you pass it, the defender will always win it, hence, the game becoming more and more predictable. The game needs to be cramped up a bit more like in real BUT only if the first touch system is perfected. It would make for a lot more creativity in making your own space, beating multiple defenders etc.

Just remember- with EA its not about making the best game, its about making money. They probably already have the gameplay engine prepared for 2010

I always felt TOO cramped up in previous fifas.....

The first touch thing should be huge for the gameplay. but they shouldn't stop there. They should tweak the physics, but most importantly IMO the players should move around the pitch better. Previous titles felt so static and I always had to send a player on a run myself which lead to repetition.

I personally think its gonna be their best game ever. I can't really compare it to PES hence I've never played it and don't want to. I have trusted ea alot and although they may have dissappointed me last year a little I think they have got it right

[RANT] EA will never learn. They will continue to churn out beautiful looking games that entertain u for a week then gets old. They always do the same crap every year. Hype it up, add one or two new features, then the next year remove those features and add new ones. They're so freakin' stupid... Why not build upon previous games and add features every year? Instead of trying to rebuild it over and over? They will never make a good football game, EVER...[/RANT]

No I'm not a PES troll, but I've been playing fifa games since the '97 version so I've watched how the series has progressed. They will never match Konami in raw gameplay though because they dont seem to understand the basic concept of football...

LOLOL Noone buys the game in Russia or Ukraine anyway. I dunno about other countries u say byt in those 2.... U can pretty much buy any game (pirated version of course) for about 1.25$ american. As for real versions reproduced officially by local companies they only come in a CD case(nicely pakaged however with proof of purchase and the little tiny game booklets) they are sold for around 5$ US.

So i highly doubt EA is making much money there. One of the reasons i think no teams have been inluded since the 99 edition.

Well, the new features in 2005 that have to do with gameplay nay only be two, but they are two very important features. Seeing how many reviews are saying that FIFA is better than PES, Im hoping for the best. I think the fact the requests were sent to EA right after euro2004 had a big effect on the game.

Ea still will be the first in football sim, cause it has online and low specs.
Doesn’t matter what kind of game will be released – fifa 2005 – 2010.
Until konami realize how important online feature is – ea always will be preferable (well, not for me anymore).

gameplay is what its all about a PES4 out 4thQ PC Xbox and PS2 is where its at!


even more player animation , even (though just a bit ) players bodies twist for better turns and so on!

As for real names ( edit ) Spain Italy and Holland are all now licenced but all the faces are there anyway and the rest of it strips faces can be edited or mod's made..


The gameplay is simply thebest!
