as for him being among the top players ever.

he isn't even in the top 10 of all-time British players that i've seen. and i DID see him,

I've never seen Best live (obviously) but from what I've see I'd have to say he was one of the world's best footballers and defenitely THE best British footballer. My dad who did see him play defenitely shares that view.

Who would you rate ahead of Best?
I know there were a ton of other great players but nobody had that god gifted talent George Best had, not one of them. Shame he threw it away so early, he could have been the ultimate best.

George Best is without a doubt one of the best players to step over those white lines. Anyone who says diffrently is wrong! He is a legend, but unfortunately I think his reputation has been ruined by his demise socially.

He is "steadily improving" to quote some sources, but he's still in intensive care. Guess he still got another life hidden away somewhere in there

Well the doctors say he could be out of hospital in a couple of days but Best is in 'incredible pain'. They should keep him in longer for his own sake..............
