The French don't speak as much English as other European countries - there still are many tradionalists who refuse to accept the modern culture (mutins I think they're called). It's not as bad recently, but yeah I'd reckon they'd like to keep to their own forums, saying how shite the team was today.

And the fact that there are obnoxious pieces of shit on these fora like the ones who wrote the first two or three replies.

It's not a common thing to support your team in other countries in central and southern Europe like it is in Britain or in Scandinavia.


There were not many Italian supporters at the games, and usually the Spaniards do not have such a large supporting cast either.

I'm a French supporter, and I can say that there is a lot of fans in my country, but there is many Portuguese, Morrocan, Algerian, Senegalese, Ivorian in France. A lot of them are French but don't want to support French. I can understand, I have Italian origines and I love Italy NT, but I support France. Since World Cup 1998, the French supporters are just Footix (No Translations) who come in the stadium with paints and trumpets, no real fans. I want fans like in Argentina or in Italy, not the niggers that we have at present in the stadiums.
Frenc guys aren't very present on this firum, because thet don't want speak English, they want talk about football in their own language... I hope that I can reprensent all of them on this forum, if you go to French forums, you can see that there's a lot of fans of football, especially of Marseille, Paris SG. But national team isn't like the NT 20 years ago. The real supporters aren't in the stadium, they are in France. There are just guys dressed like Napoleon or with a coq, or with bread and bicyle, if you thinki that French are all the same...

What a pity...

Anyway, basically, the French NT supporters were suddenly born after the World Cup 1998. Those "supporters", in fact, don't really support the team. They spend their time criticizing Henry, Zidane, Pires or whatever because they missed one pass or one shot. They think that football is simple as 1-2-3, that France must win everything, etc... without knowing anything at what football is. Sometimes they just know the name of 2 players, Barthez, Zidane, that's all. It's a real shame compared to the English NT supporters, or the Spanish NT, etc.

But if you talk about club supporters, I'd say that the french supporters are mostly underrated. When you enter the Parc des Princes, home of PSG, you realize what supporting a team is. They sing, they shout, they make damn good tifos, it's incredible!
The same can be told for Marseille fans, but Europe will re-discover PSG next year, and they will be really surprised!
