For those who think 6* is too easy: Can you win handily with a crap team?

I'd like to know if those of you who have mastered 6* are able to win or even dominate with one of the weaker teams in the game or if you just play as one of the better or above average teams.

And can you pummel any of the top teams with a weak team? If so, what is your online username so I can avoid you. (:/)

I can, to challenge myself, i once took the default master league team, but that was still too easy, so with an external editor, i edited all the master league team players and lowered all their stats by 25. but dont worry, i dont play online

Wow, people actually think 6 star level is too easy?? I haven't gotten that far yet but I can't imagine how hard it'd be (for me anyway!).

If the toughest level isn't a challenge then I guess it's time to find something else to do. LOL

Yeah, well I'm finding out that many of these people who think 6* is too easy, not all of them mind you, are playing this game on the console. I asked this question on another board. From what I've read, the XBox & PS2 versions are much easier than the pc version.
If you're playing this game on the pc, don't feel so bad.

The other thing to remember is that anyone can post on the internet that they've jsut won the ML 25 seasons running on 6* using a team with all stats edited to be 1.

In fact, I've done that and so created a special editor that allows me to edit player stats to be -ve and allows me to play on 9*, but it's still too easy  .

6stars in my opinion is too easy because the defenders over commit badly, leaving gaps wide open, do a quick one two pass and you're through, someone will always be open for double teams,so yeah. I've reverted to 5 stars now and enjoy it.

Also i'm going to release my new gameplay patch soon that i've been working on, tell me then if its easy or not, hehe.

Nah I have the PS2 version. Still playing at the default level (3) and while I'm winning consistently now (in season #4), I'm not really blowing teams out. I guess if I had a perfect season and didn't concede a goal or something ridiculous like that I would bump it up a notch and get demoted to D2. LOL

But it's still very enjoyable, the best sports video game I've played in ... maybe ever now that I think about it. :D And that's all that matters really.

Well I tell ya I'm having a blast with create your own team mode on ps2 (WE8I). 4*/fatigue/injuries/25mins. It's as realistic as it gets for footie video gaming.

I play 6 Starts on PC and I find it great actually. It's much more realistic than the other stars as the computer actually manages to attack and create some nice situations. The AI also does tricks and many other things which you don't really get to see in the lower levels. I actually played on 3 stars 'till last week, and I don't find 6 to be THAT much harder. I actually won one game 5-0 and lost a game 3-0... so 6 starz roXzoRz

I started this thread hoping that no one would reply because then I wouldn't feel so bad about my mediocre play.

I've only played the pc version and I still consider myself a newbie because I didn't start playing this game until WE 7 last year. For me, this game is hard. Scoring goals is a bitch. Hell, just getting quality scoring chances is tough.

I just started a Dutch ML at 3* level with FC Den Bosch-an awful team. :nape: I wanted a challenge and I got it, even if it's only 3*. My players all seem much slower and weaker than the opposition and are constanly getting knocked off the ball. I would even bother to try an ML with this team at 6* level. I'd be lucky just to get one shot on net per game. But I'm gonna tough it out and see how far I can get this team at 3* hoping for some realistic results.

6* is too easy.... TOday i played one match in my ps2 ,i won 5-0.

U know , there is one time when my opponent is facing 1 on 1 with my keeper..

Guess what, he faked my keeper and missed the open GOAL!

SO stupid

Also, the problem ive found is that konami DRAMATICALLY raises the stats of crappy teams, by atleast 90 percent, for example, FC Metz. IN real life, this team is pretty, crappy. Konami's stats don't reflect FC Metz crapability. Could be a factor in why it's too easy even with crappy teams?

btw, I'm talking about ps2/xbox being too easy. PC gameplay is better and slower.

That's why, when you have a bad team, you have to set your tactics accordingly. Put on 5 defenders if you have to and make one personally defend the oposing team's best striker. If you don't have your radar on, put it on. It'll let you see which players are open for passes. What some people do is they only want to go forward, and lose the ball WAY too easily like that. You also have to remember that in soccer, you can pass back as well. Just try to make sure you have the ball as much as possible, and you'll see players going on runs. Also, make sure you take your chances, you might miss a lot, but at least one will have to go in.

Anyone that can beat Brazil with red arrows using Groningen with blue arrows with all the field positions mixed up by 5-0 on 6* is my hero

Yes I ALWAYS use the Radar. And at first I didn't do too much training with my ML taem but I have been doing that a lot lately, practicing on corners and free kicks instead of always waiting for one of my forwards to break in all alone from a through pass.

But the one thing I've noticed, or maybe it's just me, players on crappy teams just react much slower in the game. They're very weak and get pushed off the ball easily. And by halftime, some of my players are so exhausted that I must sub them out or they will be dead meat in the 2nd half.

When I use any of the top teams in the game, it seems like the flow of the game is much faster. Everything is quicker, not just for the star players but for the entire team. I guess this is the way the game is designed.

With Den Bosch, It seems like all of my players move around as if they were in quicksand. That's why I'm wondering just how in the hell anyone can beat a top team with a garbage team on 6*.

Problem with those weaker teams is that almost all players have a very low response (how fast they react/turn with ball) and balance rating, which asks for a different style of playing since you lose many duels and dribbles.
Buy a tall striker who's good at heading and use wingers who can cross the ball in and I'm sure anyone can win with a 'weak' club. Just remember that you can't do those Ronaldinho dribbles with for example De Graafschap ;)

Playing against other players is totally and utterly different to playing against a CPU. I'm not saying that your skills are redundant when playing other humans, but your tactics will change dramatically.

Also, a friend of mine has said he thinks there are significant differences in the PC and PS2 versions of the game. Apparently the PC version is a much slower pace, and the players don't seem to react as quick to instructions. The PS2 version is much more "twitchy".

Can anyone else comment on this?

Even though I don't play online, I still gather with my mates and hold tournaments at my house. They all bring their pc gamepads. Great fun because they are all good PESers. And yes, PC version is slower paced which adds to difficulty. One reason why I stopped playing WE8LE.
