well trust me from what I've heard I'm going to buy FM but first I want to play both demo's before I say that for sure.

This won't happen if SI releases FM first. But since CM is coming out first, I think they should really see the box cover.

i just gotta ask this. after looking at features for both games, i am definitely leaning to FM. but for the resident CM experts here like PSV, ruud and the rest, which game should be better? and i know its really hard to judge, but from your honest opinion give me an answer. since college will be starting up soon i wanna get an idea about which game i should jump on.

When SI and Eidos split up, Eidos got the rights to the name "Championship Manager" and SI got basically everything else. Eidos's game, CM, will be made from scratch, while Football Manager will have the game code from CM0304 and is improving on that...... FM2005 SHOULD be the better game ;)

Yes, FM is your best bet. I don't do odds, but SI have an 8 year head start with their game. Of course BGS can copy a lot from earlier versions, but it's still a long way to go for them.

yea i've followed and played to get that much, and thats exactly why i figured it would be better. still, there has been lot of talk to which i have not gotten, thats why i asked you guys. thanks for the responses though, from what it looks like FM really should be better. in any case, i'll wait till you guys get yours to base my opinion if i can't get it sooner than that in other ways. on this topic, i trust your judgment more than mines (H)

They cant copy anything. It's not allowed. The source code belongs to SI. If eidos or BGS copy any part of this code, or even if they have this code (even if they dont use it) there will be big trouble.

What makes you think that those who will buy the game know what happened with SI and Eidos, and what makes you think that those who will go buy the game by checking the game cover if they dont see "SI" they will say "Oh this is not the right game I wont buy it" Most ppl wont have a clue. Very few will realy know. Lets just hope FM is a success, because if it fails, then we're *******

They can't copy it directly, but the same features can be written in a different way. Plus they do have the right to use the same attributes as CM 03/04 has.
