Just because someone has 8 million for value it doesn't mean your going to get him for that price. I have seen players go for double their value or half of their value, it all depends on what his current club want.

This is indeed the case as it is irl, if a player is important to a team then they'll generally want much more for him than his 'neutral' (ie. displayed) valuation ... if he's unsettled or unrequired then you might get him for less.

When considering a player try and think of the circumstances and bid appropriately, also look for players in their last year of contract - its at that point where you can sometimes negotiate aggressively because the club will be aware they might lose the player on a free at the end of his contract.

Btw I modified the database and gave Chelsea over 100 million budget, I put all that in a bid for Ronaldinho and they said no, fact is they don't want to sell that player so whether or not your bid is for half his value, double it or 5x it, they won't sell.

Some clubs simply DONT need to sell a player, especially the larger ones - as such it will take a farcically high bid to acquire a key player from those clubs.

If this wasn't the case irl then I'd expect Chelsea would contain a lot more of the Barcelona and Real Madrid squads

Incidentally Chelsea have a 'SUGAR_DADDY' flag set in the game config file which means they'll get regular cash injections and a very lenient wage budget (again as irl).

If you're finding this side of the game hard you can set this up for any club in the game by editing that file (its a simple text file) - just two proviso's, (1) it has to be done before a game is started (ie. it won't change an existing game), (2) don't come here and boast about your performance if you've done this

I notice that when you say your dissappointed(or even angry) the lads starting upping their game in the second half. And when I say I'm thrilled after a stunning first half, most of my players starting playing worser then they did and sometimes the opponent came back from behind.

A lot of this side of things is dependant on player personalities and morale ... if you don't know your squad well then I'd suggest erring on the side of safety (I document some fairly 'safe' teamtalk options in my hints and tips guide).

Examples of this:
"Doing Well" - if this is a professional player then it'll make him happy obviously without any detrimental effect, however if its an unprofessional player with high morale already (or even worse one who's playing badly) then he might get cocky and relax leading to problems ...

Oh yeah. What do you think about the difficulty of your game?

And also if you start with a low team will they have to stay in that same stadium if a new one is not planned? Can you imagine a team like Barnet Staying in a 10,000 seater to play Champions League football one day? Or being top of the league and only 10,000 fans can watch becuase the expansion capacity is 10,000. I am aware that some stadiums in the game cannot be expanded beyond the current limit. Like Old Trafford (100,000).

And one last thing people tend to complain about conceding goals. No matter how good your defence and keeper are you will always concede unecessary goals.
