I didnt get into FM 2006 nor 2005 aswell. Not that it's a bad game, but the series (lately) is more directed to dedicated players who have a decent amount of time on their hands to make a good tactic/training schedule/etc. rather than the occasional player (a.k.a. me).

My all time favorite is CM 03/04.

Yeah for me aswell, although I've only played 3 versions yet, but I had the most fun with CM 03/04 with various clubs.

really??
i'm finding with FM06 that the tactics i throw togeather in a few minutes and training sessions i spend 15 minutes making do a fine job.

but then maybe its just me :jambo:

Anyone else find it brilliant that you draw with a poor team at home and rape a tough team away? I hate when I get a cup game at home, because the chances of me winning are very slim, infact out of my last 2 cup games at home I have drew both. I have the best away form and something like 7th best home form, although I am top with 1 loss and something like 4 draws out of 24 games, but I bet every draw/loss has been at home.

CM 03/04 is a classic. I liked FM 2005 but the 2006 lacks consistency. You can go on a run if your lucky then all of a sudden lose 5-1 to a rival. Its ridiculous. I hire the best coaches improve my training facilities. Do everything well. I know i do not suck because i have dominated in FM 2005 and CM 03/04. In CM 03/04 i won over 12 trophies in about 8 seasons with Man Utd. I dominated the league for 8 seasons. In FM 2005 i used Real Madrid and won everything possible in 3 seasons! So my tactics must have been working someway along the line. This latest game is terrible. If you cant get results using similar methods then it doenst do for me. I'm not a fan of 4-5-1 but i've used those and i still concede many goals. I cant really be bothered with this game anymore. I've restarted so many times with different teams and different leagues but it doesnt do for me. You encourage the players but they still give rubbish performances. Not good enough. This game doesnt live up to the previous version for me. I'll go back to 2005 then.

Meh, it's more because in earlier versions it was easy with big guns like Real and ManU. In this new version it is more difficult which in itself is an improvement I think. I mean winning the quadruple anytime is not realistic, not talking about the fact that it gets boring(atleast to me) too.
I actually think FM 2006 is better than FM 2005 after playing it for 2 months now. It requires a much better manager and I find myself making complified tactics and I'm extremely proud when it works. I'm more addicted to FM 2006 than I was to FM 2005. Although I agree nothing beats CM 03/04(for now atleast)

What I don't like about FM06 is that they completely fcuked up the half time talks. The effects are so brainlessly stupid it's not even worth using anymore. When you say you're satisfied then your team is sure to concede 3 or 4 goals in the 2nd half. And when you question their passion or wtv there's no change at all basically. What's the point of doing a halftime talk if there are no positive effects whatsoever?

For team talks i just got a assistant manager with very high motavation and man management and let him be the guy that does the talking, it works perfectly for me. :)

I notice that when you say your dissappointed(or even angry) the lads starting upping their game in the second half. And when I say I'm thrilled after a stunning first half, most of my players starting playing worser then they did and sometimes the opponent came back from behind.

I don't mind the team talks at all, I enjoy them. I think WWSM06 (hey I'm American) is a better product than 05, but I wouldn't have splurged for it if I had bought the 05 version. I'll probably buy it once every two years. Currently in the 2009 season with Puebla.

someone who says that fm 2005 is better than fm 2006 is an idiot....they are probably angry because it is not so easy any more win tropheys!

If they say, for a game, it takes up too much time to be succesful in, so it's not as fun, they're right. This isn't "a game", it's a passion, a lifestyle. Well, probably overdoing it a bit, but if you just don't have the time to play it like one should, it's not as good as you would think.
