Another problem of PES 3 is that you can 't "ask" from a player that does not have the ball to run forward - even if you do not give him the ball. This is something that is happening all the time in real soccer and I do not see it in PES 3. I try to change my tactics by pointing arrows to my wing players but nothing happend again. The player that is going to make this move will also drag a deffender with him, so you will have more space in case you take the decision to attact by yourself...

Let me know your opiniom about this... I also did not hear your remarks about what I said for the fouls on PES 3...

See you...

Neo...

Well actually if you go to the PES WE fourm i think Han or someone else ( a master at PES WE ) made a thread a while ago on how to make players run forward that do no have the ball, i dont know how to do it yet but if you go there and ask or search for it then you can find it. Im still learing new stuff in this game so i havnt masterd it yet becuase there is just so many things that you can do in this game.

I couldnt really understand your other post cuz you said The AI shot a total of 50-70 fouls - around. It scored once are you saying it fouled you 50-70 times and that it only scored once!?

So far i have not experienced this problem when i play aginst the computer, my maches are very close like 1-0 2-0 or 2-1, like that. Also they dont foul me as much as your saying I only get like maybe 10 fouls at most a match which is pretty good, and when they take shots then only get like 7 shots max cuz im pretty good at defense but bad at offense in this game.:)

I would like to apologize for my English... Can I use Greeks? hahaha... ok that was a joke...

Well, I meant this...

I played in PES3 20-30 games against the computer on levels 3,4,5 - against good teams. The computer shot 50-70 fouls - around - against my post, cause it was in good scoring position, close to my post. The computer scored once, only one goal from a freekick. My keeper stopped the ball once or twice. The rest of the shots went out - or far out - from my post...

I do not think that this is much realistic. To be honest when I was in a difficult case I could make a foul close to my post and then I had the ball for a free throw - since the ball went out...

I also think that in PES3 there is no way to ask your teamate to run forward unless you pass him the ball in the open space. Let 's say that I control my mid player and I see my def teamate in front of me in a good position to start running so I can pass him for a good cross. I do not want to pass the ball in the open space. I want him to run, and I will pass him the ball when I think that it is the right time. I do not think that this is possible in PES3 and this is something that is happening all the time in real soccer...

Hope to hear from you...

To do a give and go pass you hold down L1 and press X to pass. The player will pass and make a run. Of course YOU have the option of passing it back in front so he can run to it or you can keep the ball and do whatever you want. This is for WE7/WE7I/Pes3

Other than that I have not found a way of making a player run.

Try playing around with the tactics and strategies in the team management.

why do i have to change everything "BEFORE" I play, like in PES or WE. you have to change the formation, tactics, subtituting players, make this one run, make that one go back !!
I play a soccer game to play soccer, not to spend my time thinking about strategies and tactics..
I'm not saying this is not good, but in FIFA 2004 and Euro 2004 you can do these things during the game. you control more than 1 player... set the formation, choose your line-up, and that's it !
the rest comes during the game, which depends totally on your skills in how to use these features ( OTB, run, calling a defender..etc)
I'm a FIFA fan, and I bought a PS2 console ONLY to play WE7i.. WE7i is obviously better than FIFA 2004, but you can't say it's better than Euro 2004. each game has its advantages and disadvantages.

Not only your blind your also stupid
Even Fifa 2004 graphics are 1000x better then the cartoon pictures PES/WE uses, not to mention Euro 2004.

Ignore them man, Euro 2004 is far superior to PES3, but they dont want to face the facts since they enjoy having konamis dick up their asses.
Not only that they wouldnt a soccer game if it hit them in the face.
And I totally agree with you.

I guess you prefer what EA has come up with, I respect that.

Personally.. I don't set those stuff usually (for fifa and we7i) against the computer (unless i can't beat them many times) but in we7i I really need to against real people or I will lose.. I'll set this defender to mark this good striker aggressively, the other mark the other striker normally. When the team don't seem to be playing well, change the captain will improve it. Plus the stats of the each player is simply overwhelming.. and they each stat makes a difference.

Euro 2k4 has its advantages, but WE7I has so much more. If you haven played the game with another friend yet, I urge you to do so. ;)

I like Euro2k4 improvements but can't stand the golf-like freekicks and preset corners. The stats are okay...... so i'd still skip this version and wait for fifa 2005 which is near.

The mods are very lenient toward you for all of your cuzz words because you are bashing KONAMI which is OK in their book. Anyone else would at least gotten a red or yellow card for those words. Using profanities to win an argument a resort for a desperate person.
Read this article and tell me if Euro 2004 is better than PES/WE. Even a senior marketing executive from EA said that Euro 2004 is NOT a PES beater.

Euro 2004 Preview

UEFA EURO 2004

10 Apr 04 You know the form by now: a new FIFA game every year and a 'special' one every other year for either the World Cup or the European Championships. Naturally, it's the latter that concerns us here, as Europe's finest (and Latvia) gear up for the impending festivities in Portugal. Some epic battles are expected, and pundits are also hoping for a couple of decent football matches. While the TV screens will inevitably be filled with drunken pondlife spitting hate in Hackett, Burberry and Clone Island, UEFA Euro 2004 will eschew the garden furniture and water cannon in favour of the football.
From the same Canadian stable as the absurdly successful FIFA games, a separate 30-strong development team has put Euro 2004 together, presumably leaving the rest of the robots to concentrate on FIFA 2005. To claim that it's a wholly different game would be a lie though, as this is simply FIFA 2004 six months down the line with a Euro flavour.

FOOT IN MOUTH
Clearly aimed at the mass market, EA is happy to admit that it's attempting to ensnare Euro-crazed football fans. In a somewhat Ratner-esque statement, a senior marketing executive openly proclaimed: "I want to be honest with you and say that this game is not going to be a PES-beater - it's not even going to necessarily be a FIFA-beater." As for the good news, it promises to be "the deepest event-product we've ever brought to release", the idea being that once you've seen the match and got the shirt, you buy the game.

To that end, it will replicate the Euro 2004 experience in extreme detail. It's not just about the final stages in Portugal, as the Euro Coach mode will enable you to take charge of any of the 51 nations that took part in the qualifying campaign and steer them towards the promised land. Over a maximum of 29 games, this will cover friendlies, qualifiers and hopefully the finals themselves. During the 18-month campaign, squads can be selected from 40 or so players, although injuries, personal issues and even club versus country rows will impact on their availability.

IT'S NOT IN THE GAME
On the pitch, EA is claiming upwards of ten new context-sensitive skill moves, including nutmegs and Ron Atkinson's perennial favourite, the lollipop. Throw in fake shots, diving headers, bicycle kicks, chip shots and a new crossing model, and you could be forgiven for thinking that it sounds like a more arcadey experience. However, our extensive playtest of the alpha code proved otherwise, and it seemed to be little more than a slightly slicker version of the previous FIFA.

Of course, Euro 2004 will also have an online mode, as with previous FIFA titles, featuring various multiplayer options for you to thrash. Hopefully, the slew of new game modes will ensure Euro 2004 is worth checking out - and while there's no doubting the authenticity of the game, we can only hope the boys get it right on the pitch come this summer.

I wonder why KONAMI don't put the referee in the field during games... it's weird no? The referee should be there or they don't want to put it in so they can write less code and one more object to interact with the environement...?! :crazyboy:

Ok its better to understand you now:crazyboy:

First off which game are you playing PES 3 or WE7I!? Cuz WE is better t hen PES 3, it has less handballs, less fouls, better passes, better shots, and some other stuff so you should really check out WE7I.

Also like i said about telling players on how to run there is thread about it and here is the link http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?threadid=90163 Hope that helps he wrote out a very good explanation.

Anyways as i have said before in my matches aginst the computers they usually get like 10 shots max if that, i can play defense good in this game. It really depends on what tactic you play as it does in real life as well.

http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?threadid=95738&highlight=How+to+make+players+runs Heres another thread with a viedo and he talks about it more indepth inthere. Hope these help you

:)

Also to the guy asking why there is not a ref, its becuase Konami have said it would take too much power to have a ref on the filed at all times running and all.:)

Hi there m8s...

I see that you have difficulties giving me an answer on what I said before for PES3, which is normal because I think that both games - FIFA & PES - are having disavantages...

to TottiNZidaneR#1 : As I said on my post, I am playing PES3 on PC. The tactics does not work as the mate says, so clear - I am reffering to the link you send me. And even so, if you want to make a player run when he is not on the right position of the team - you may have in a situation Thuram who is CB Def in a good position on Attact - it is not possible cause the man is not on the right position of the team strategy - which is not like this in real life...

to Killua : Pls read what I said to TottiNZidaneR#1 for tactics...

There are other thing that concern the improvment of the game. I really do not care about licensees and names but I think that in Konami they can improve the graphics and the frame rate - which is below EA in my opinion. I also would like to see more combos in "freestyle" - I mean something like this....

http://www.frutsel.terrainhost.com/frutselapp/dump/neo/freestyle2.wmv

... I also believe that EA had a problem on "freestyle" in FIFA 2004 but I played the demo of EURO 2004 and I see a big improvment. Still I want to play the game in the final format in PS2 to have a complete opinion...

Hope to hear from you...

Neo...

What i find interesting is that i see so many people saying 'I was a FIFA fan then i saw the light' or 'Converted instantly from FIFA to PES'. Me being one example here. BUT you don't see many people switching from PES to FIFA. Never seen one.
