yeah but that was thanks to Ricardo, if we had a decent keeper we wouldn't have drew that game even playing like amateurs.

i know figo is a great player but since he haven't been playing for madrid lately i don't think he should get called up instead of players that have been playing all season and now because the "vaca sagrada" is back that means they will sit on the bench or even won't get called, well, that can be good cause they'll be on vacations a few days earlier.

WB FIGO! with his mentality and the young portuguese players that are getting called to the nt i think we have a clear chance at the wc2006, but first we need to win against slovakia.

Figo on his prime was just completely unstoppable. He never was the fastest of players but he always went through. I think his career in Barça was very overlooked. He should have had much more awards and earlier in his career. I know he was just a winger but really he could take on 3 or 4 players with ease. I'm sure any Barcelona fan that has moved on and forgot what he did will agree with this.

He definitely wasn't below Zidane in his prime, the difference is that Zidane always shone in the decisive moments like the finals and the big games. And that big game factor is a must for reputation purposes.

It really hurts my feelings to see so many portuguese people trashtalking him after what he's done for us. He always carried the team on his back when it was needed and if the rest of the team had half his quality he definitely would have won something internationally.

That is a good opinion you have there, mate. To make my point more clear, I should add that I'm thankful for all Figo did for our team. He did carry it at certain points and was the most influential portuguese player since Eusébio.
However, his return to the NT has a very poorly concealed agenda behind it, and it spells I'M NOT DONE AND I WANT A FAT CONTRACT all over it.

Virgo, don't bag Saramago. I can see where you're coming from: I also thought he was a cocky bastard, because that's how he comes across to those who don't really get him [I could go on for an hour here, but it's better that you find out for yourself]. Once you click with him (reading his books is a good start) you'll see he's not only the most brilliant portuguese of the past century but also someone that did not compromise with any forms of tyranny and oppression.
By the way, I've met him in person, so no, he's not arrogant, much on the contrary.
I know you're a leftie too, so do yourself a favour and re-discover this man before he dies.
