FIFA WORLD CUP 2006: The Suggestions...

Having the recent draw of the FIFA World Cup completed, I think its high time that we start thinking about the FIFA World Cup game for 2006.

My Suggestions:

Menu: More user friendly, "Colours of Germany" style: Black Red & Gold, with a splash of green. The seperate menu for the Kit Select screens in Euro 2004 was a great idea, Keep it for Germany 2006! You can even keep the same pose of the players for each of the european countries, while formulating new ones for the other intl teams, with updated kits for all countries.

Countries & Kits: All members of FIFA who took part in qualifying, with all kits being realistic, with correct logos, as should required by EA Sports! Holland is no longer considered an excuse...

Germany 2006: for Teams who have qualified (except Germany), give the user the option of playing the Finals or re-qualification.

Stadiums: of host cities for Finals. Also, for Qualfication Mode:
Stade de France, Bolleart, Parc des Princes, Velodrome, Gerland.
Da Luz, Alvalade, Bessa, Braga, Dragao.
Stamford, Old Trafford, Anfield, Highbury, St. James.
Bernabeu, Mestalla, Calderon.
Olimpico, Alpi, San Siro.
Samiyen, Ataturk.
Amsterdam, De Kuip.
Constant Stock.
Cameroon Stad from FIFA 98.
Maracana.
Azteca.
Millenium.

Training/Practise: Team and individual practise, free, corner and penalty kick. Practise the basics with those who know: Figo, Zidane, Raul, van Nistelrooy, Blanco, Reyna, Ji-Sung, Nakata, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Carlos, Cafu, Crespo, Santa Cruz, Larsson, Del Piero, Henry, Beckham, Kahn, Ballack, Sukur... The list is endless. I would also like to add that possibly EA Sports could sign the voice talent of the players for Basic Training, in the language of thier representative country (Figo in Portuguese, Beckham in English, Henry in French, Ruud in Dutch, Raul in Spanish etc.)

Setplays: The Free Kick system in FIFA 06 is terrible, dont even think of using it in FWC06, you'll just ruin another great game, EA. Use the UCL system of Freekick Gameplay, with the miniball from FIFA 2005 to set the power, spin, direction of the kick. The same can be said for corners.

Skills: A recent thought of mine: Use a ball-opponent-direction distance factor to determine what kind kind of tricks a player can and should do.
EG: If the controlled player is at the end of his opponents shadow and facing his opponent, he should be able to pull a tunnel. If the player is closer, and within range of tackling, then a 360 spin or combinations of close control, depending on the skill of player. NB: The 360, elastico, 2nd foot push after a heel back, (Shift back then forward in UCL/FIFA 06), dragback to 1 side around the leg, lollypop, should all be able to be done manually with or without an opponent.

Match presentation:
ALL The Teams must have anthems, and the audio being played the whole way through. Opening and closing ceremony cinematics (with the presentation of the trophy!). The ability to control the crowd support ratio should be a new feature added into Germany 2006.
Commentary: Martin Tyler. & maybe Andy Gray, but Martin's good enough to do it by himself. Also one note on opening commentary, Make the commentator say something along the lines of: "Welcome to this friendly/qualifyer/WC group/quarter/semi/3rdplace/final match between... (Brazil) & (Ghana) in (Hamburg) at the (AOL Arena) Stadium." Also obvious things such as: "Drogba for the Ivory Coast" "Shevchenko for the Ukraine" "And Now Ballack for Germany" "Ronaldinho for Brazil on the ball" can't be forgotten...

But make a distinction between a friendly and the World Cup final...

Unlockables:
Tricolore
Fevernova
Roteiro
Thus Ball Selection
OlympiaStadion
Thus Stadium Selection
Classic Matches of the World Cup.
All Star Teams.
Training in any Stadium
Video's of the Host Country, Participating Countries (Thier Road to the World Cup).

Classic Matches Video, Videos of stadiums and thier cities, Maybe during loading screens thus not an unlockable, like in FWC 98.

u already said all posibles ideas i think.... EA should hire you :jap: how about a 3d model of "GoLeo" the mascot of WC 2006 walking around, before the matches begin..

Very Great Ideas :)
But I just know that EA will hardly even make half of what u said
my expectations is a game that has a life time of playin of about one month
EA are just no longer wanting to do effort in supplying all teams of the world unlike FIFA98 when there was alot less amount of detail than now so very unlikely
hate to be the one saying this but WC2006 will most likely feature all countries from europe (with qualifiers) + all teams qualifying for world cup (argentina with generic kits , holland a whole generic team)

But I REALLY hope They take even 3/4 of ur suggetions they are just goin to revoltionize the game

One last thing : how about the management options of FIFA98 which enabled u to set pretty much any formation u want with any tactics u want add the new IGT and u have a perfect managment seat in the game

I would love to see more authentic crowds, obviously when playing home or away, the crowd favours the home team, but in the world cup the crowds are generally neutral, so there should be fans of both teams, as well as neutral supporters. Also, the crowd should be wearing the colours of their team, and there should be more flags, banners etc. maybe even bring back animated flags. This all adds to the atmosphere of the game, which is important.

lol probably true but hopefully they can produce something we can enjoy playing and not just the first time we play it, it has to bring the true world cup experience right to ur home, u have to feel the passion lyk what rtwc tried to emulate (y was rtwc never released on current gen if there wasnt that option in 06?), we know that ea can produce a good quality game just that recently they havent been doing so so GET CRACKING EA!!!

I would like it like the Euro Game, the final tournament with qualification. Every Confederation please! I mean, all of us in the patching community can do that, and we don't even get paid for it, it's just our hobby, so comeon EA!

Honestly, a complete football game would include everything. Leagues, and All international teams with WC and qualification, with callups, the works. Like you could play a four year cycle, representing a national team and a club team or either. And with Club/International team conflicts of interest,

But money runs this thing, so that's not going to happen, they do what makes the most money, and I guess, if I were them, would I want a huge house or and average one? What would your answer be??? I mean there not a charity or anything, there a business. And so are the leagues they get liscenses from.

We can all still hope though, that what keeps us playing.

I guess the only time well get to play a perfect football video game is in heaven.

I hope to see you there.

Starting XI
we need the option to play out every game of the world cup, or if we dont like the teams or draw we can change them, use the real schedule, and the real stadiums for each match

now come on i think they would at least have the option to play the world cup under official schedule but yes i do agree if you qualify with a team not in the world cup then it should replace a team that doesnt make it in the game due to your success like in world cup 2002 did. i also believe if you do qualifying mode they should have major stadiums (like in euro 1 stadium is fine!!!) from countries such as urgay, japan, korea, england, france, spain, australia plus all the othas so when u qualify u actually feel the tension of getting to the finals, i wanna feel as if i am back in stadium australia in that penalty shoot out when aloisi was running up to the spot....
any way u catch my drift atmosphere and authenticity is what i am trying to say and also if u win a cup please show the damn trophy and i kno pes fans will hate this but copy pes cos they have got it right have medals and chicks in suits who hand them out and have the full podium thing when the whole team gets on yada yada yada

ausbarca your so right all the cut scenes are all important in the game makes it all the more realistic espically after you have come all that way you need rewarding at the end the best bit about the 360 game road to world cup is when you win the penalty shoot out

You are right donovanfan, I have always said that after looking at your patch and observing how one person who isn't really a game developer can create such a top quality patch and exploring and editing the database so that the patches works flawless.

The thing is alot of people creates tools and mods like yourself donovanfan and Pede 54 that is much better to the ones at EA.

But I have come to this conclusion....EA does some of those things for spite and not by accident. Look at the glitch in the Create a Player mode in FIFA 2005 where the player socks couldn't be changed from a low type or the horrible lay-out of the practice mode in FIFA 2005. The practice mode could of been done much better, there are a ton of other small things that EA can improve on but they wait on the next FIFA so that the game looks all the improved e.g

New ticketing pricing system ......WOW you could of done years ago and the leaving out of any weather condition in FIFA 2004 then including it in FIFA 2005.
