Could you help with describing the below magic?
In EdManager Ślask Wroclaw has unique id: 00250024
1676492224601.png

But when you go to player section and choose favourite club for player as Śląsk Wroclaw or see in transfer history the id of club is different it is 0x250004:
1676492196523.png

The similar case is with other teams. I found that for Cracovia id value is the same in club settings and player transfer history.
So it seems like there are two unique ids attached to club. But how it is that everything works well, I don't understand. The game should crash.

Dmitri

Reserves
That's correct. Unique IDs are used for graphics (badges, pictures etc.) and historic files.
For referencing clubs inside .sav files, some other IDs are used.

@Dmitri
I have problem with understanding 4 params from player section from countryXY.sav file in fifa manager 08. Did You maybe investigated what below 4 params mean (below I descibe their localization, hope it is understandable).
%INDEX%PLAYER
...
playerStyle
unknown2
character
hairColor
face
hairType
...
favouriteClub
neverPlayInClub
0
0
0
0
unknown4
tactical sense
...
colorOfShoes
unknown1
%INDEX%HIST
...
unknown3
%INDEXEND%PLAYER

unknown1 - I debugged in original fifa manager 08 database value is between 0 and 9 (maybe it is agent for player?)
unknown2 - I debugged in original fifa manager 08 database value is for example for Poland between 40 and 100 but it is for sure not level of player. For me it seams like it is potential max level of player. But this is only guess, my feeling.
unknown3 - the last one before %INDEXEND%PLAYER, I debugged value is for example for Poland between 1 and 49 but don't have idea what this param means.
unknown4 - in the most cases value is 0, but in some cases 2, it is also hard to guess what this param is for

Anyway even if I change those magic params to 0 in original fifa manager 08 database for debugging purpose and start game then I don't see any regression. So maybe those params aren't so important. But it would be good to understand what they mean.
The rest parameters in player section I understood so I have good basics before conversion football manager database to fifa manager 08 one.

Another interesting thing is that when you start game with dedicated team then 1st squad, reserve is selected automatically by fifa engine in random way however each time Sebastian Szalachowski is injury and this is strange because in player database I didn't find parameter responsible for injury. So it is really strange why permanently fifa engine chooses this player as injury.

There are usually unused fields which left from previous versions.
unknown2 is player potential (like in FIFA), probably unused since FM 08, removed in FM 11.
unknown4 - stability of board of directors (when player data is used for chairman)
unknown1 - long sleeves (unused)
unknown3 - unknown (probably unused), removed in FM 11.

Also it will be better if you create a separate thread for such questions, this one is about FM 23 patch.

In order to install new faces you need to put face files to data/assets folder and also define the face in fmdata/eng/FaceIDs.txt file.
@Dmitri
Are you converting FIFA 14 faces in FIFA Converter in order to install them into FIFA Manager? If so, what settings are you using? Because I see .fsh files and .o files. I just need a little more info on the process.

Also for a team like Arsenal, I looked in the Editor and I pasted the Unique ID in the kit folder and I found nothing. How do you replace kits if the clubs unique ID doesn't show in the Kit folder within the data folder?

No, for FIFA faces I'm using my own tools.
For PES/eFootball faces we have a public tool and a tutorial on Discord.

Kits are packed to .big files.

@Dmitri

Thanks for your response. Could I possibly have your discord in order to help you with the 23-24 patch?

Also where are these .big files for kits located because in the documents/FM folder I looked through the folder and couldn't find the .big files for kits which is what the readme.txt file said for updating logos and other graphics. I also looked in the main game directory and there were .big files however they had the word art before them. Could you provide an image or exact location for where I can find the kits at?

I'm just trying to understand and see if I can help out!

Here is Chelsea's 23-24 Home Kit if anyone wants it! You have to Convert it to .tga format if you want to use it!

FIFA Manager 2023 Update 3 is now available.

Notable changes

New Parameter File Youth Players Countries.txt was added
  • In this file you can define additional countries (and probabilities) which will be selected when the game creates new players in youth teams
  • You can also define the probability of 2nd nationality for created players. The name and appearance for players with 2nd nationality are based on 2nd nation
  • Foreign players now have 2nd nationality set to club's country
1690121790321.png 1690121801151.png 1690122344756.png

Player nationalisation for AI National Teams
  • Players with 2 nationalities now can change their National Team, if they don't have any great prospects in current NT, and if they are good enough for the 2nd NT.
  • This feature extends the already existing feature of the game, where players can gain 2nd nationality after living in the country for some amount of years.
  • The National Team change is partially random to prevent a big amount of players who change their NT. Older players have more chances to change NT than younger players. The chance for NT change increases if 2nd nation is qualified to international competition (Euro or WC).
  • Example: Brazilian player Fernandinho who has Chinese as 2nd nationality in the game, decided to change NT and now he will play for Chinese NT
1690122371836.png1690121865526.png 1690121876794.png

Several improvements for Team Photo screen
  • Trophy models are now displayed on Team Photo screen (this is a feature of original game, but it didn't work because of wrong models format)
  • All first team players are now present on Team Photo
  • Fixed a problem with wrong hair textures on Team Photo
1690122094168.png

Staff members who became managers now have correct profile information (birthday, nationality and other), so the portrait doesn't disappear now

You are rights, kits are placed in art files. But if you want to add your own kits, you can do this by placing them to data/kits folder, or to Documents/FM/Graphics/3DMatch/Kits
