Fifa 360 does have Skills, EA speaks

An ea forum admin knows as much as us.
So where are the skill moves in the demo then? In the controller options they also don't mention on how to peform skills.
I cant believe ea left it out and will put it back in the full version.
Thats not logical.

Remember that the animations take up additional space, just like commentary, extra teams, stadiums, etc.

If you read the Konami interview with Seabass, he said the whole reason they didn't do a new next-gen version of PES this year and did a simple port with updated graphics is because it can take 2-3 years reshooting all of the animations.

Players performing special moves take up additional frames because the moves are a lot longer than a simple pass, etc.

I can totally understand why they left them out. The demo was just supposed to be a taster of the gameplay overall, not a full versiion with less teams.

well the 360 version does have skills, I've seen em. I think it very much depends on the player you control and the type of skills he can perform.

But whether or not you execute the move yourself is something I'm not sure of!

NK.

I love the demo. To me it promises to be the best soccer game I've ever played. I'd been playing WE10 for the last 3-4 months but this is much more fun, the control system of the players seems a lot more open and I feel like I'm in control and the CPU doesn't magically take over my players to ensure it can score on me.

I'll definitely be going with FIFA 07 on the 360 over anything Konami put out this year.

I wouldn't, seems like Konami have made worse cuts than EA! NO EDIT MODE FOR 360!! Stick with FIFA my friend.

Thats a disapointing attitude, I hope they actually make some effort for next years release to bring it to the next level. I'm a PES fan, but I'm really glad EA have gone to the the trouble to move their game forward for the 360, hopefully it gives Konami a kick in the pants.

WOLF when is PES/WE coming out for 360? US wise?

The release date thrown around (for about the last 4 months) is January 2007 but knowing Konami it'll be pushed back to Mar/Apr.

If it's based solidly on the WE10/PES6 engine, I can't say I'll be spending $60 on it. FIFA 07 has a lot more freedom over player control than WE10 and there's a complete randomness to the game where there is no definitive route to success in scoring a goal, at least when you get to pro/world class level.

I'll challenge that...

In the 360 demo, I can score with any player at any difficulty setting every single time with 90% certainty from "sweet spots"...
If you shoot from the half circle at the edge of the box, most certainly you will score... And the sad fact is, I SO wanted this not to happen... First time I loaded the demo up, I tried it with Ronaldhino and scored 10 times in a row from approx same spot (half circle)... I'm talking about FIRST time with the game ever and scoring 10 times in a row... that's pretty disappointing...

Funny thing is, as soon as you come into the box, it is harder to score... as well as outside the box, but inside the half circle ... different story... you can tell straight away that the keeper has slower reaction time when you shoot from these "sweet spots"...

Taking it even further, even shooting from the half (before you touch the ball for the first time in arena, just press shoot button for about 80% bar) you can score in at least half occasions...

I thought, OK, it is just a Ronaldhino thing or it is possible only in this Arena thing, but NO... The in game is the same (except half way thing, I haven't tried it properly)...

If you do not believe me, I'll take a video of World Class match, and I'll beat comp at least 5:0 in this 5 minute half with 5 completely different players and post it on youtube... (just need to get home first, at work at the moment)...

There are few other issues I came across yesterday... Collision detection is horrendous at times... E.g. I crossed the ball from left wing; ball reaches Eto'o for a volley and I score... But, after viewing the replay, I have't even touched the ball (it was almost a meter away), and it was spinning in one direction + having the swerve in the opposite... VERY weird... The way it looked, I got the impression that the engine "drove the ball into the goal"....

Sure it's only once, so I hope these type of things won't happen in retail version.

Then Miki23, you just happen to be a genius at the game because I played pretty much the last 3 years on 5/6 star ratings on WE/PES winning most games by 2 goals but get my butt kicked pretty regularly on FIFA 07 in World Class mode. The great thing about FIFA this year is you can make the game so much more dififcult with removing the pass assistance to the point where World Class level becomes twice as hard.

I guess you're just one of those players is happens to be great at the game. For most of us though, the game will provide a challenge at the higher levels.

Actually bud I think that the worst thing is, once you discover patterns on how to break the defence and sweet spots, you'll be doing the same... It is still scripted ... and I'm not best Fifa or Pes player around either...

Yes i agree with you totally on this, i have allready started working out how the AI plays, and the most annoying thing is they always get the ball and go out and wide and cross it in, seems like every team i play against they have the same Tactics, the AI in this game is ****.

Wolf i just think you have gone off WE/PES because you have played it heaps, i rkn in a few months after some heavy fifa 07 gaming you will be completely sick of it. Im a fan of both games but i have to say WE/PES gives you much more freedom and Fifa is starting to give me the ****s because i keep scoring the same goals over and over again.

ive read somewhere that this is the demo that was on show at E3 back in may.. the demo at X06 was said to be improved since E3, so lets hope these flaws u have discovered were the things that were improved...

Sure thing, I said that because I've seen this demo @ E3 in EA VIP room... and I've seen one at X06... I haven't had a chance to play either so I'm still having hopes...

The engine has huge potential and let's all keep fingers crossed that AI and all other issues are tweaked for the retail version...

Otherwise it will be a short lived game...

EA completely screwed up Live this year... but on the other hand vastly improveed NHL ... I hope Fifa is in NHLs direction...

Another thing also makes me "nervous"... online implementation...
Madden, Live and NHL have quite poor online implementation... Playing against some international players (especially here from Aussie) looks more like a slideshow rather than a game...

WOLF DO YOU MEAN FIFA 07 on PC/PS2?? Or the Demo? Also will the PES6 XBOX360 released in Europe be playable on US Xbox360's??

I mean both. I haven't been able to master the game at World Class on the PC and the 360 demo is hard because you can make even the semi-pro level hard by totally removing all passing assistance. If somebody can truly dominate every team in legendary mode on the 360 with passing assistance turned off then I'm seriously surprised!

The European PES6 won't work on the USA 360 because the disk won't be region free. Konami want people in the USA to wait util next year to buy WE:PES2007 which will come out a couple of months before WE11 is released in Japan, i.e. seriously freaking out of date!

Here's what I find Very Simple:
On FIFA07 PS2 - I find it a bit easy to score on WC and I find the AI non existent at times - just played ManU v Aston Villa - I won 2-0 8 shots to their 5 - Yawn.

On WE10(Japanese) I find myself pinned -mad goal mouth scrambles - clearing the ball down the field in a close match just to get it out of there! - So far I haven't felt that on FIFA07 PS2 ...I WANT FIFA to be the better product and in many ways it is -however in Video gaming -Gampley always reigns supreme and I just can't justify saying FIFA plays as hard as WE - When I score on WE - I pump my fist at times....
