I tested a lot of times with my CPU and 100% of the times the game goes on. Anyway a 1.8 processor can barely run normal Fifa.. what about a little update?
EA always makes FIFA very accessible to even users of an "older" system, hence even on my friends 1,5 Mhz, 256 RAM & without a video-card (only 32MB chip) the game worked just fine.
And I tried again....after 3(!!!) hours the "completing transfer"screen was still not showing signs of life, and I would find it extraordinary to blame my 1,8 processor for that
.
I don't know if this helps locating the problem, but I mention it anyway:
This morning I wanted to try one last time, loaded my saved game once more and suddenly the completing-transfers proceeded without any delays in 3 seconds, whereas before it always frooze at that particular time! Seems like it did something different than the 10 times I tried before (at exactly the same point in my career). I don't know if it helps, but it probably shows it's not caused by an "action" that the computer does automatically 100% of the time, there is a case of "chance" here it seems! Maybe it's connected to certain players or clubs, iaw: if a specific player gets transfered the game freezes, if that player keeps being "untouched" by the game, the game will function correctly.
Anyway, good luck with the solving, it's very much appreciated.
