FIFA 12 Flags

Hey all,

For years I've been editing FIFA 12, mainly via DBM12 and Creation Master 12. However, it's only been since this weekthat I know how to successfully import flags into FIFA 12. But here is where a new issue occurs.

For a lot of the teams I added the flags into, the new flags will be shown in game. But for some teams, FIFA does not show the flags. Some examples are 'new' national teams (that were not in the original FIFA 12), English teams, Cypriotic, Japanese or Indian teams, just to name a few.

I think it has to do with either the connected league the teams are in, or the nation they are linked to. But I am not sure and I am not able to trace the cause via either CM12 of DBM12.

Who has the knowledge to help me out here? It would be hugely appreciated!

Ok, I'll try to write down everything I've done and found over the last couple of days. I think those findings are pretty interesting. Here it goes:

Importing flags:
1. Download the Rx3-converter and eventually the FIFA Converter, to enrich and strip the PNG files.
2. Strip and enrich the flag you want to add (this might take a while, depending on the amount of flags).
3. Remove the flags from your sceneassets/flag folder. Maybe make a backup before you delete these flags. Better safe than sorry.
4. Add the enriched flags in the sceneassets/flag folder. Replacing DOES NOT work, as FIFA will read the 'old' rx3 structure.
5. Regenerate the flags using CM12 or any other tool.

Testing flags:
For some added teams, national teams and leagues I found that the imported flags were not visible in FIFA12, while others were. So I tested and experimented a bit. It seems to me that whether a flag is shown or not is related to the country a league and/or a team is linked to. From what I found it seems to be that most countries that are default in the International league have their flags and so will the teams/leagues connected to that country. From what I found, these countries are the exceptions to the logic (as in: national teams are available in FIFA12, but they don't show flags: England (scarfs only), Egypt, Peru, Slovenia. Ukraine, however, does have flags available, which makes for the following list:

Most striking test was: teams from my Qatar and UAE Leagues did not show any flags whatsoever, but when I changed the countries of my (added) Qatar and UAE Leagues into Finland and Ukraine, the connected teams did display flags. Which proves to me that flags are related to countries.

Now the question is: how to change FIFA12 in such a way that it also will show the flags from other nations?

Using CM12, I tried changing the "Country" value of "Bundesliga" and "2. Bundesliga" leagues from Germany to Philippines. My Philippines team already has an assigned rx3 flag texture, but still didn't show up in the game after regenerating the bh files

Next step for me is to try adding the Philippines as a German team in the Bundesliga, just to see if the flags show up

A similar trick worked for me. Change the nationality of the Philippines team to for example Germany, regenerate via CM 12 and start FIFA. What also might help is to let the team you want the flags visible for, to play against a team that certainly has flags (like Ajax, Real Madrid, etc.). It seems that the game somehow slowly gets triggered to show the other flags too.
