cardozo shots, saviola touch it with the heel, off-side and subject closed.

Cardozo wasn't in the play. I dont know who made the pass, Urreta and Saviola ( not in offside ) went to the ball, Saviola fails the reception and then Urreta pass the ball with the heel.

Why? Oh wait, you're going to bring out the past again, aren't you? Nevermind then, same old bullsh*t.

Ukra and Castro being called back from loan would be a decent move by Jesualdo, eh?
They are past being hot prospects and are both having wonderful displays at Olhanense...I'd definitely give them a chance in our squad since an all-round midfielder and an incisive winger would be great assets for the remainder of our season if you ask me.

And they're home made, so they'd fit in perfectly.
That's another plus on their addittion, it's been a long time since we had a true nucleus of portuguese players reaching the main squad, not to mention them coming from our youth teams.
It's true that there haven't been any starlets making a real impact on the last few years but these 2 kids seem to be the real deal...it's kind of soon by I'm also putting my money on Rabiola to develop into a class striker (H) don't think he's ready for the big stage yet though.

Solid win tonight against Naval, Falcao and Varela scored again and Tomy rounded up his magnificent performance with a goal too.
Rúben Micael -> exactly who we were looking for after Lucho left.
He simply makes our game flow with his tactical efficiency and refined technique. Player!
too bad about his pimba style name...guess he just couldn't have it all.

It was vital to get the 3 points in order to take avantadge of Benfica's draw last night, we are now 7 points behind them but with a game in hand and there are some important fixtures still to come up such as PortoxBraga, SportingxPorto, BenficaxBraga, BenficaxSporting and of course we will host Benfica right before the last round in what could be an absolute decider.
Let's see what Braga do tomorrow in Belém, we could either cut their lead on us to 3 points or remain 6 adrift...

either way Wednesday we have the League Cup semis against Briosa, Jesualdo should give a chance to a few youngsters but I hope the team won't be too unbalanced.

on another note I'm glad to see some new hate tags showing up, some people must be getting a little too nervous following yesterday's choke...I'm lovin' it (H)

incredible how we've managed not to win last night, between missing a sh'tload of absolute clear goal chances, being robbed of a scandalous penalty, and Leixões practicing the art of anti-football like I hadn't seen in ages...all went wrong for us.

Mind that I'm not giving up on believing we can win the league in the end.
It's pretty obvious that all has been carefully arranged in order to get Benfica out of their misery this year, but we are defintely not dead as of yet...and neither is Braga anyway.
Which reminds that I'm slowly coming across a dilema: would I mind losing the CL spot as long as Braga were the champions?
It truly pains me to say it's a hard call.

ahahaha(Y)

Portistas has the tendency to say that we are always looking to the past, but when we are in front of Porto in the league the response is always the same coming from you guys: " Benfica has the matches arranged bla bla bla".

Porto should be ashamed of that words after the phone conversations between Pinto da Costa and some Portuguese Referees. Today's Braga 2nd goal was irregular, and now they are 9 points in front of you, but all you can say its" bla bla bla Benfica has matches arranged bla bla bla". The penalty yesterday was clear, but Porto didnt lost because of that. Benfica in the first game against Maritimo was in the same anti-football situation! In the 1-1 match against Setubal, there was 3 penaltys, and the referee only whistled 1 ( that we missed ). Stop that ridiculous whining and that terrible excuses and worry more of Porto's football. A team who wants to be champion cant miss those "clearly goals" opportunity's!

btw, nice photo right there! I hope that Porto wins, if not i can predict some supporters saying that Benfica arranged Porto x Arsenal match.:blah:

Riiiight...I wasn't exactly talking only about what's been going on inside the field.
either way I didn't expect you to agree with me and I'm not even gonna bother arguing so you may keep it in your pants dude.

I'll be at the Dragão Wednesday, should be a tremendous one.
Pretty sure the Arse will come and play for the 0-0 and nothing else, and we are gonna be all over them from the start.
Scoring the early goal would be a great morale booster and could lead us to a confortable win which is what I expect. Keeping a cleansheet and scoring at least a couple will do the job, and man I just can't wait to watch THE HULK back, he must be ******* hungry for football...

Starting XI
well, it does take a lack of shame to talk about arranging anything. i mean, there have been some things i'm not proud of, like the thing with hulk and sapunaru, which i believe it was arranged by benfica, but besides that and all the mind games braga are playing i don't see how you can really believe what you're saying. of course there's been some games were the ref helped us, with or without intention we can never now, unless there's some proof of that, but i seriously doubt that someone with glass roofs would throw rocks in their own houses.

i mean, come on. in the last years i could be very pissed off with some ref decisions and off the field plays, but i wouldn't dare to talk about that, even if i knew it was true, seeing the difference between benfica and porto. and even tho that difference isn't as clear as in the past years, this time i think benfica is really playing an attractive and effective football, and it's unfair to take excuses that aren't more than pure speculation, based on nothing.

and for god's sake guys, start paying more attention to football, this year has been a big disgrace with all the bull**** outside the field, and i admit benfica has been playing a big role on that.

That's what bothers me the most in all of this man, I have no problems in admitting that Benfica is playing well enough to be above us in the table right now.
But as you've mentioned, we have stuff like the Hulk and Sapunaru situation, I mean how surreal is that sh't? 8|
FFS, we are playing our football too, I just want us to be left the **** alone.

I do agree with you on that last part, I only have to remember how beautiful it'll be to attend the match against Arsenal to completely forget about all that other bullcrap...it's all about loving the game in its essence :)

well bro, guess you couldn't have picked a better timing for doing so...I obviously was there too, Super Bock stand FTW (H)

Man, what an enphatic win. We were just too much for Braga tonight, and the 5-1 scoreline tells exactly that. Beautiful football to watch along with a remarkable efficiency provided us with an unexpected easy win in the end.

And I think it's about time I dig this up:

FC Porto just did Benfica a great favour when they "stole" Alvaro Pereira
I'm so gonna hold you to that (H)

done :innocent_smile_1:

Alvaro had his debut goal for us in this match and has been amazing all season long. I doubt any Porto fan even slightly misses Cissokho given how well he's done so far, and I hope to see him wearing our shirt for many years to come. Player!

My MoM though,Varela hands down.
Dude is unstoppable atm and he basically murdered Braga's defense.
A word for Falcao too who's scored yet another brace :)

Highlights here: http://videos.sapo.pt/0DesjOHqNv8zNQSnjDpP

Alvalade coming up...not gonna be easy but considering the form we're in and Sporting is not, plus the fact that we can't afford any more slips...this is a definite must win.

I was checking Portuguese Liga history and I saw Mario Jardel name there.

He was a great top scorer.
