Raja de Casa!! didn't realize they were in as the hosts ... they were African Champions back in the day, and were a popular team even as far as Zed (mostly coz of the name, really) ... in fact, I think they were part of the inaugural Club World Cup in 2000 ...

EDIT: yes, they were! with Eto'o still playing for Real Madrid :-D ... I enjoyed that tournament, group stage and all ... it had novelty value ...

Beautiful game by Raja today. I never thought I'd support them though, I was born in Rabat and they're one of our biggest rivals.

Did you guys see at the end of the match the bunch of players/staff surrounding Ronnie and stripping his boots out of his feet as a souvenir lol. Cheesy but hilarious.

Edit : I found a video, it looks like he's getting abused and robbed

This should pretty much guarantee us the title, it seems awfully unlikely that Casablanca would be able to pull off an upset like this. Would be some real chaminade shit.

So, Juve wanting Mandzukic is a rumor I hear gaining steam. Any truth to this? Are Bayern willing to part with him?

Well, the Lewandowski transfer is set to be announced on January 2, so it really wouldn't surprise me at all to see Mandzukic leave in the summer. I believe he's stated that he would like to stay and compete for his spot and I'm sure we'd be thrilled to keep him as a backup (he was brought in to backup Gomez, so his salary is manageable), but if Juventus came with a big offer I'm sure they could get him.

The thing I will say with Mandzukic is that he's kind of a luxury player. He won't score a lot of goals or create for himself, but he will finish off plays. If you already have goals and creativity in the side and don't necessarily need your striker to score 30-40 in a season, then he's perfect because of all the work he does. However, if your team isn't great and you do need a goal scorer, then he might not be a huge success. Bayern, IMO, is such a great team that they almost need a guy like Mandzukic up top because it keeps them from funneling everything to the striker in a predictable way. However many (most) teams need that Gomez type because otherwise they just won't score goals.

20-25 mil Euros is the rumored price I hear being thrown around. Now what I read on Tuttosport(AKATuttoshit) actually conflicts with a part of what you said. This story says he's not happy Lewandowski has signed and is ready to ask for a transfer. Probably just a pot being stirred, doesn't sound likes it's in his character to give up so quickly when faced with competition for a spot.

I'm aware he's not a super threat, but Conte likes forwards like him who work hard and contribute other things on offense. I'm not worried about goals, we got Llorrente hitting his stride and Tevez is doing fine. I guess Marotta just wants to stack the forward line.

We apologize for keeping the yellow too long

You have a crowded midfield/forward line.

I don't understand why you need Lewandowski. Just to keep him away from Dortmund?
