I admit jose is a bordering legend.. he's obviously not sir alex ferguson (not judging by the number of cups won of course) but he's not pep guardiola either.. let's assume guardiola leaves today; barca will find some other coach that suits its own system or just promote someone else like guardiola to run the system as it was, and everything will be fine.. I'm not insulting guardiola here; he's a great coach, just like rijkaard.. he works magnificently with the barca system but he's more likely to fail with any other team, like rijkaard did.. jose likes to build things around him, and when he leaves, things are more likely to collapse in comparison to barca..

but I think jose had it coming.. since his glory in nou camp last year with inter, he seems to be obsessed with barca.. he always talks about them in some way.. he doesnt want to manage barca, he wants to show the world his system is better than them.. but he wasnt better last year, and he isnt better today either..

I'm not a defender of old or new football managers. I believe in good ones and bad ones, those that achieve success and those that don't. Please don't call me arrogant, but I'm European champion and I think I'm a special one.
- Mourinho (On his arrival to Stamford Bridge)

Again, nice try.

It seems that 5-0 win over the Royal Spanish Club has hurt many people in Spain.

Today, we were very close to lose 3 points, or saying it better, they were very close to steal us 3 points. At 12, REFF tells FC Barcelona that the game has been postponed for Sunday 17:00. Then, after 3 hours, after a huge pressure from Madrid media (and God knows how many other people), they tell FC Barcelona that if they don't show up after 5 hours in Reno de Navarra (at least 4 hours drive far, having in mind that the whole country was in an emergency situation since airports weren't working), they gonna lose the match. This is how things work in that poor Spain. This is how some Madrid-based newspaper that write bull****s all day long, influence a whole federation and make it change its mind and words.

You could have seen frustration in Pep's face while he was entering the stadium, or in the press conference after the game. Well, I like his words, he said it very nicely: "We're coming from a land called Catalunya and we have little to say here."

It seems that this year, same as the previous years, we have to win over other means as well, not just on the pitch. Oh btw, Real Madrid only beated Valencia after referee gifted Valencia with a red card. ;)

Hi5 Espana. Villarato.

Don't know if you guys would handle it like German clubs do, there wouldn't have been a problem at all. No matter where they play in Germany they use a bus to get their, usually the evening before.

Yup, it was pretty funny seeing how Marca covered this story.

Marca website: match started 20 minutes late
Marca newspaper: match started 45 minutes late!!

I think Eduardo Inda idolizes Rupert Murdoch.

Yeah, but here the problem is not how to travel. Barca could very easily travel a day before the match, by bus or by train. That's not a problem.

This time, the problem was Federation itself. Barca knew there that airports weren't working on Friday, but the AENA (Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea) promised Barca that they will fly on Saturday. Then, at 9:00, players were leaving for El Prat, but all flights were canceled. Then, they again promised Barca that they will fly anyways, around 11-12 o'clock. Also, Spanish Federation was promising Barca that if they can't fly the match will be postponed, and even at a point, they postponed the match for Sunday, 17:00. But then, after different pressure from Madrid-based media, and Osasuna refusing to play on Sunday, at 15:00, they tell Barca that if they don't show up at the stadium, they gonna lose the match. And you know how the team arrived in the stadium? After taking a high-speed train, they continued the trip by a bus, escorted by the police all the time, and driving above 110km/h (As far as I know, busses are not allowed to drive at that speed though, but since police was escorting them, they did it). They also didn't stop at any toll-payment stop, etc. They only arrived at the stadium at 20:02, while the players wore the kits on the bus. They did a short warm-up (like 10 mins I guess) and went straight on the pitch to play FOOTBALL. :D

Guardiola said it, if they wouldn't get these promises and they knew they couldn't fly, they would have taken 9 o'clock train to Zaragoza (and arrive at around 14:00 in Pamplona).

My point was about how much Madrid influences Spanish Federation. This was all about Barcelona, Osasuna and Federation. While 2 (Barca and the federation) agreed to postpone the match, how can outside people influence that decision?

Oh, here it is a story of the trip: http://www.totalbarca.com/2010/news/story-of-a-wild-trip/
Or the video: http://www.as.com/futbol/video/todos-secretos-viaje-barcelona/dasftb/20101205dasdasftb_9/Ves

btw, I don't know if it has been discussed here, but Mr. Sergio Ramos has been banned only for a match. This is how much a joke this federation is.

hmmm.. very interesting facts here. They should make a documentary about this trip to Osasuna. It's even more shocking than 9/11. Great detective work bybuti.

I'm not from the USA, but I would think that topic should never be brought up in a joking manner. Lots of people died and countless more were affected by this tragedy.

So you would advocate for someone making a joke about the Holocaust?

yeah, his argument is ... but if Isr**l can pull the political crap and get into UEFA, then why should anything stop Egypt trying to pull something similar with some other excuse? they're about the same distance from Europe too ...

Seriously, what's your problem? Will you stop doing that? You don't do it for any other country, or any proper noun, for that matter.

You expect me to believe you would accept a joke about a genocide of your people?

How is that the same thing? Xifio doesn't have a sense of humor, that clearly wasn't a joke.

I do accept jokes about the Holocaust, especially on the internet, because it's not, and I assume someone will post a pic, serious business.
