Vedran-get this pessimism...
Okay...
1. The pessimism and negativity has been a constant in the Barcelonismo for over a year now. In the Valladolid game, some people showed up at the stadium with white handkerchiefs, and there was a flag saying "Aren't you ashamed of yourselves"? People are pessimistic and very, VERY, disappointed. The whole Barcelonismo have been watching the same bull**** for the past two seasons and we're fed up. This team plays like they don't want the title.
2. With the amount of talent and cash we possess, we have no right to complain about injuries. Get it through your head - we have an entire team of world class players, we MUST perform consistently regardless of injuries.
3. The defense leaks because of low concentration and poor tactics. Nothing is affected with Puyi. You do realize he started off as a right-back? He can play both positions and is equally adept in both. Puyol - Rafa stopped being formidable after the 05-06 season. Puyol and Milito haven't gelled yet? They should have, it doesn't take much for defenders to form a mutual understanding, and these guys have been playing together for over half a year now.
4. I do watch and Eto'o indeed has technique problems. He's always had them, but they're more highlighted now since we aren't doing well and people focus on flaws that we used to ignore. If they all constantly change positions, why did Titi complain about being played as a winger all the time? It takes a lot for a player to tell the press that he isn't happy with the position he's being played in.
5. This proves you aren't completely in tune with what's going on. Ronaldinho is faking his injuries, and so is Marquez most probably. R10 complained about an injury only to have the medical staff confirm there is none, and Rafa has been misteriously injured for quite some time now, what's up with that! Deco injured himself during a warm-up (!!) while Yaya can play injured!! Leave it out! These three choose the games they want to play in, and they want to play the CL, hence all these "injuries" until push comes to shove in Europe. On another forum, with people that live in the city and go to games and are generally more informed than others, I read very interesting things that give you a new perspective. You should try it, maybe it will show you that things aren't black and white and "injuries" aren't always injuries. Fact is, some of the players have become real assholes and some others are following their example.
6. Keep up with the general idea of my post. I wasn't talking about a specific game, but rather business as usual. Giovani usually doesn't get enough minutes, considering his talent and the level of "performance" from those who are playing. I hate seeing Gio come in after 80 or 85 minutes. He needs more time. And it's ridiculous to mention Santi, he isn't material in this by any means.
7. Again, you're showing clear signs of sheer inability to understand simple things. Go back and read the article where I mention Oleguinho, the one that starts with "The defense leaks too much...". It's obvious that nothing mentioned in that article is a good thing. The general mood of the article is quite negative and then I mention Oleguer... I didn't just throw that in randomly, as it's also meant to be a negative that he could come back. Really, dude, pay more attention because it's annoying to get attacked like this and have to point out at blatant gaps in your reply.
My mood is negative about la Liga and the CL and it will continue to be, quite rightfully so. We haven't shown anything worth being positive about. Madrid lost to Valencia because of an odd off-day for Iker and an amazing display of goalkeeping by Timo Hildebrand. Valencia's tactics were poor and lets not forget they got a penalty in the Bernabeu, which happens rarely. Basically, in nine games out of ten Madrid beats Valencia. Last night was that tenth game where they somehow manage to lose despite having EVERY chance to win. It was lucky for everyone except Madrid.
You have to forget about the gap being decreased and think rationally now. We've had the gap at only two points and still managed to bring it back to eight. This is by no means a more optimistic situation than that of a few weeks ago when the gap was almost minimal. We are still playing very poor and can't challenge like this.
I've been hoping for two seasons now and I won't be a fool anymore. Even if we DO manage to win this league (which we won't), it will be the worst la Liga title in history, one that is NOT worth winning. No one wants it and the performances clearly show it. No one is interested enough. There are standards and they must be upheld. We need to finish third and, with the obligation of playing the CL qualifications, cancel our bull**** tours and concentrate on football. It would also be nice to at least save some pride and make it into the Champions League semi-finals. It will sound nice to say that we've been among the top four in Europe. But we need to eliminate a team to do that and we'll see how that goes.
All in all, faith in this group of players is something I've lost. I absolutely love the club to the death and always will, and that is precisely why I want us to finish third. We need a really PAINFUL result, one that will make heads fall. We need an overhaul, a remontada. It will damage us now, but in the long run it will be better. If we win the league, there is a danger of some of the cancers to remain with the team, and that mustn't be allowed. If we finish trophyless without even direct CL qualification, there will be an explosion and people will be forced out of the Club. A lot of players and coach staff need to leave as soon as possible.
If this happens and we have ourselves one nice, juicy remontada, it will be better for the Club's future. The filth must go in order for the good things to develop properly. The future is always more important. If things don't go as I expect, it may fool people and not get the required job done.
