looks like it's gonna be an exciting three horse race in the la liga this year with sevilla possibly making some noise too (Y). I'm very interested in the la liga this year, more so than in the last couple of years.

Good match by Valencia. I applaud a tough opponent. Canizares definitely played like the great keeper he is.

The ref wasn't horrible, but those 2 penalties he missed, plus the whistle while we had the ball on the edge of the box was some serious BS.

I am happy with the result and it looks like we didn't miss Thuram V-10, I don't think he would have made a difference on their goal as that was a superbly place and weighted pass by Miguel.

yes i agree ; marquez and puyol were great ; so we didnt miss thuram ; villas goal imo was zambrottas fault ; villa even called the pass by raising his hand and zambrotta shoulda catch up to him;

no harm done, we're top of the table. bring on bremen on wednesday and lets just keep getting those points in the league. thuram and others will have time to prove themselves, the season is very very long. if madrid and valencia keep going the way they are going, we're going to have to be very strong all year as well, and this rotation policy will definately have its benefits in the long run. i just hope the players that are being left out don't get disheartened and keep working, because that if that happens, then we're going to have problems. i don't see that being a problem though, it's a big club, and fighting for a place is gauranteed.

if i remeber correctly puyol could of easily stopped the pass and marquez.

It looks that way in the slow-motion replay, but really it was a well-hit low cross....one of those ones that just eludes you. You know, like the ones the CPU always does in PES that make you throw the controller :) .

Maybe either one of them could have had a chance to cut it out, get a foot on it or something, but really it wasn't as easy as it looks. It was a really great pass by Miguel on a pretty great play by Valencia. Great passing from the centre of the park, quick passes and movement off the ball created a nice goal. The more I watch it, the more I take my hat off to Valencia for a great goal. :jap:

It's important to remain unbeaten tonight, and I think we'll do it. We may even win, but Werder are in lousy form and strong teams during bad periods are a very dangerous thing. When they wake up, they're going to rip someone apart. I hope it's not tonight. We didn't look so tough against Valencia, so Werder will know they have a chance, especially playing at home.

I think we'll either escape with a 1-2 or we'll draw 1-1.

Just stay unbeaten.

Mertesacker will play his first competitive game since the WC tonight. He's not 100% fit but Bremen's defense can't get any worse anyway.

mmm no ; it was a great pass by miguel; if marquez or puyol would intercep that ball it was a good change in could be an own goal; like i said before; zambrotta was the only one that saw villa raise his hand to call the pass; but he coulndt catch him; he was the one that shoulda intercep the pass.

damm; etoo could be out from 2 to 3 months on that injury in bremen; :kader:

todays game imo was more dificult than that with valencia; werder bremen did that same pressing valencia did; but with tha diference that bremen was very good in the offense; the first 20 minutes of the game were all bremen ; but then barca kinda balance it; it was a real fight in the midfield for both teams; to be honest the game was kinda boring; plus is it just me or did someone else hated the starting lineup( motta, oleguer, giuly, silvinho :kader: ); btw what a freaking play by messi :rockman:

p.s ; now we need to handle etoos absence; to be honest it could be interesting seeing gudjohnsen start; i really like his playing style ; he isnt that much of a goalscorer like etoo; but he is a better and smarter passer and retains the ball more than etoo; on the other handd; could this mean more saviola games?. ( the universe tends to unfold itself lol )

the last thing we needed was an injury to one of our key members, and look what we have now! ohh yay eto'o out for 2-3 months potentially! that's not been confirmed yet, lets hope it's not that serious, but we didn't need this at all. i'm not saying we don't have enough cover, it's just that this was working out so well, and now we're going to have to find that balance again. it's like when we were ripping people apart last year and then all of a sudden xavi got injured, and then it took us a few weeks to regain our composure. i'm praying thats not the case this year, cuz valencia and madrid look threatening, and next up in CL we play chelsea............ :kader:

yes i agree ; tought rijkaard is rotating players ; he always has been loyal to his playing system ; and etoo was esential for that system to work ; ronaldinho and etoo understood themselves perfectly; so i agree its gonna take a couple of games to get used to a new forward thats not etoo; btw its official etoo torn his knee cartilage ( Tear to the meniscus); so it pretty serious; its has not been announced officially how many months he is going to be out, but take my word on it its gonna be 3 months at least, at least! :nape:

A pure targetman wont work in Barca's system.

To me, the beauty of Barca's system is that the front three exchange positions during the game whenever they want. Usually only the wide players change positions.

Normal:

x----1----y

x and y change positions

Barca:

x----y----z

all of them rotate positions throughout the game. very nice.

Eto'o IMO is the most crucial player for that system to work as he is capable of playing wide. Like Henry or Sheva. Truly forwards of a different class.

Maybe Saviola or Guddy can be tried out there, but I really doubt it would even be 50% as effective.

I think your underrating Klose, the guy can do more than just head the ball or finish it. IMO a fantastic player.

I agree with you there. Klose is a great player and does a decent job dropping back in the buildup. I mean yesterday he was chasing back to defend!

Obviously he's not Eto'o, but I think he would work in our system.

Larsson to an extent worked in your system so I dont see how Klose would not fit in.
